Thread: Novice scout grouped with master ranger

Trying to use the search, but keeps telling me too many searches for over an hour. I am sure this has been posted before, but I ask again.
I am going master ranger. I am told that is even a novice scout groups with me, they get my +150 harvest bonus. Is this true?
Also, if I use a 110 harvest driod, does that make my harvest skill 160 (+10)? or 165(+110%)?
Can BE cloths and FS skills stack with these?

If I may take the liberty to guess at what you are trying to figure out, your best harvester of creature resources will be a Trandoshan (they get +10 to Creature Harvesting as a racial bonus) Master Ranger using Veghash and a Droid. The Ultimate harvester would be the person I described grouped with another Master Ranger.

Yes...the +150 is built into your skill no matter who you are grouped with, or if you are solo. However, the Novice Scout will get an additional 40% bonus to his harvesting becuase he is grouped with you, a master Ranger, but you will only get a 15% (I am not sure of the exact %) becuase youa re grouped with him, a novice Scout.

Not exactly. I am not sure how the harvesting droids work, but I know their rating does not translate directly into you harvesting mod (i.e. I believe it is % based).
Can BE cloths and FS skills stack with these?
Well, yeah, but there are no BE clothes for harvesting...the BE food, Veghash, will stack, however.

Well, it doesn't boost the novice scout's harvesting ability to +150, if that's what you mean.
A novice scout only has +15 creature harvest mod, but grouping with a master ranger would give him +40% more units from harvesting. The master ranger gets the highest bonus of whoever is in the group besides himself. (he/she doesn't take advantage of his own +40% bonus).

Hehe.. Well, your post made sense. I guess we still consider that +60 mod increase in the final box as a master ranger bonus.
That, the 64m rule, +20%, 30%, 40%, +60 mod up to +150, creature knowledge mods that don't increase knowledge... It all gets confusing

Do not forget that a novice scout with +15 in creature harvest actuarially harvest 115% of the base, and the master ranger with +150 in creature harvest actuarially harvest 250% of the base.
With the 40% bonus for being grouped with a master ranger a novice scout will harvest 115*1.40 = 161 or the equal of having creature harvest skill of +61.

Droids don't work right with the new bonuses right now (or at least not with the new MR bonus); I get a tiny increase with my 119, so small that it's often more efficient to just do one or two extra lairs than fiddle with him, whereas he used to really earn his batteries. No word on if they'll ever be fixed.

Good point - when grouped, I actually harvest less with my 114 droid then I do alone.
I'd also like to point out the removal of group penalties as a GOOD way to promote group activities (which seems to be an aim of the CU). When penalties were in effect, I disliked hunting with friends because of the hit I would take (especially if with a novice scout, as the 2 of us together barely equaled what I'd get alone). While the group bonus is welcome, I am more pleased that I'm nolonger penalized.
