Well, I fear this is the end of my Ranger days, at least for now. My current main character will be crippled when I log in after Bloodfin gets converted to the CU because the new Rifleman requirements will mean that I've spent more than 250 points. Basically looking at a forced respec as I won't be able to move.
From what I experienced on TC, I may as well respec anyway as MCH/Ranger probably won't cut it if I hope to hold my own in combat, which is pretty much the only content that I see myself participating in until my subscription expires in July. I don't even have it in me to go through my inventory or strip my ship to deal with the CU bugs---just going to take my lumps, buy a whole new set of weapons for whatever template I switch to, and move on. Not 100% sure I'm going to completely drop Ranger, but right now it's not looking good.
I just wanted to say thanks to Owen for doing great job representing us and to this great community as a whole. I have a lot of respect for you and although I don't post a lot, I am proud to have been a part of it. Cheers, and here's to hoping that I'm kicking myself two months from now when I see all the sweet updates Rangers are slated to get.

Good luck bud, be sure to stick around, changes will come in time and im sure you will have fun leveling up ranger again as so many of us are going to be doing come revamp day.
If you still wanted ranger then possibly go Master Ranger/MBH and you still have enough points to pick up whatever FS boxes you need or novice medic 0010 if you wanted.

I myself am converting to MBH/ Master Ranger/ SL 0300
should be fun honestly, i will be able to join my other BH buddies to go make jedi take a long walk off of a short plank

I'm going to keep my main character as Master Ranger / Master Rifleman. I have hopes for the future of Ranger and right now my P-Darts will help slow mob progression.
I think there's alot of potential for the Ranger profession so I'm planning on holding on.
I'm definitely taking my alt and re-rolling him as Master Carbineer/ Commando with some Scout.
I've had so much fun testing... SO MUCH that I'm even going to start a few chars on TC which will be for goofing around mostly.

hmm...42, babbel fish...douglas adams. Yeah, good series. Anywho, Im actually thinking about making my main a 0044 LS, 4xxx Def and MCH post CU The BH's will love to pick on me

No need to kick yourself over it.. hehe.
You can always come back whenever the ranger revamp happens. Might as well have some fun in the meantime. Tonight is my last night on my Master Ranger toon on kauri. My main, and first MR. I'm about to log in and kill/harvest anything I come across and /areatrack to the nearest mob. Basically just have fun one last time and stock up on rifles/combat XP.
When the server comes back up on Thursday morning, I'll be dropping master ranger down to 4000 scout.
My new template: Master Rifle, Master Carbineer, 0404 BH and 4 boxes of FS melee defense.
"Master rifles/carbines/0404BH/+20FSmd... It's a template, not a profession nor lifestyle".
I've still got my Ranger on TC and WH though, and plan to remaster ranger on Kauri whenever we're revamped.

I'm having a hard time deciding what to do. I could say "yeah I'll go respec". However, as I've quoted you, I have just grown so tired of the demeaning way that SOE treats it's customers, the way we get pushed around like a herd of sheep, I am really having a hard time giving a damn about anything in that game anymore.
The past few months of SWG have been like watching a car crash in slow motion for me. I saw what was coming, I waved, I pulled, I shouted, but couldn't do anything to stop it, and now almost certainly will be left looking at a steaming wreck before too long.
Once I let my subscription expire (when; to be decided)I shall take great relief and pleasure that I am no longer funding this soulless mega-corp anymore.

I'll definitely be lurking on this board to keep tabs on what's going on.
Still trying to figure out my character. I started out considering:
Master Commando
Master BH
Scout 4/0/4/0
or...
Master Smuggler (in the hopes that the revamp will happen and add content)
Pistoleer 4/4/4/2 (maybe cannibalize scout to master this)
Scout 4/0/4/0
I always wanted to try Smuggler, and hand novice and a box at one point, but dropped because it was so broken. With their CU love and potential revamp content, I think it could get. Just don't know how I'll feel about the crafting element and don't want to be in the starport slicing, but an InstaSmuggler respec would spare me that, I guess. The BH/Commando sounded good for grinding through the Village.
There are a lot of other interesting combos suggested here though---I am glad they decided to give us repeated respec chances instead of a one-time-only deal.
