I am lvl 20 grinding Trapping 1 (i put it off) and maybe I am doing something wrong. I can't hit anything with the traps, and the things I can hit are way below my lvl and give me 1 xp. What should I do?

you're mistaken about getting 1 XP. Your trapping XP is not displayed on the screen. You get trapping XP when the trap hits, not at the end of combat. Check your skillsheet, it will display your trapping modifier. This modifier determines what CL creature you can trap. Right now, you should be able to hit CL 10 creatures. The XP you get per successful trap hit will go up as you hit higher CL creatures. Thus, the way to use traps is to use them. Use at least 2 traps (different ones) per creature and you'll rack up XP very fast. There is a very large amount of usefull information contained in the stickies of this forum if you have more questions.

This is horrible! I return to find my new title on the forum is "Jedi". What's up with that? If they wanted to confer that I'm rare and learned, they'd make my title RANGER. and then make it camo colored.

What is the big deal about trapping?

Yes, I madeMaster when Ranger meant hours of camping. And I maxed trapping first both asMaster Scout and Master Ranger. Now my alt is on his way to doingthe same- and has already finished his first box of trapping as a Scout.

Toss a freaking trap before you shoot or pummel the creature. Toss another halfway through the fight. For that matter, get in a group and only toss traps at one or two lairs. The XP adds up and you max in no time. Get a factory up and running and you will have traps out the wazoo to toss. The only problem is most players are too lazy to toss a trap and too impatient to have to wait for the cool down period.

Scout XP is a freaking joke. You can Master Scout in as little as one day if you have half a brain and can figure out just what is needed to be done. Those with a full brain can easily Master Scout in as little as 4 hours. To prove this thesis, I will do exactly that tomorrow on my day off. Solo. With a freaking CDEF pistol only. And I will not leave the environs of Mos Eisley. Won't stop the whiners but will be a fun thing to do.

Mastering ranger will not take much longer, even with the "higher" xp levels (yes people, they nerfed those too, downwards).

Above all remember that when you get to trapping 3the P-dart is the most uber 1337 trap in the whole game. Get a friend with a factory to make you about a gazillion of them and you'llhave a much easier time solo hunting

I think this sums up trapping xp very nicely *hugs* JB

I always carry an assortment of traps when just out exploring, you will always run into something you can throw a trap at for xp
