This is a voluntary only list of rangers that are currently for hire. Please include your specialties that you will be hired for (see list below). If (O) other is one of your specialties please make a very small summary what it is so to save space. An example would be (Tent Rental). This list will be updatedwhen I have a bit of spare timejustlike the Ranger by Galaxy list. Comments on what you think of this list would be welcome and greatly appreciated. Thank you for taking part in this list and hopefully good things will come from it.

There is a scout list on that forum. Would this be duplication or more for our special abilities?

More for our special abilites really. We can harvest more so coming to us instead of a scout would bea natural choice. Our tracking abilities obviously. And how many weddings or parties have you been to in a multiperson camp. I remember my days as a scout trying to land some avian contract from a doc and he told me to come back when I hit ranger so I could harvest more. Granted he still bought the meat I got for him but he would have been happier with more. But being since there is a list on the scout forum maybe we could just link it to here and get all the active rangers on that list as well. That wouldn't be a bad idea either.

Given how many people actually use the complete list, is this really worth spending the effort on? The complete list is nice to have, especially for keeping track of Rangers,but I know that no one has contacted me through it (and almost no one seems to notice it or any of the other stickies before posting the trade threads). This sort of list must be a lot of work. Is there really a need for a separate one?

If Deadtech is willing to construct another massive list, then I fully support him. I think it would be a good idea *in case* people start reading stickies.

actually once i got the list started it only takes me about 10-15 min to update once a week. not too bad a thing while I'm knocking back some coffee at 6am saturday mornings after I drop my wife off to work. The system I have for updating it moves with the quickness. Kinda like killing banthas. I do see why some wouldn't use the other list to contact someone for a job being it doesn't actually say it's a for hire list, but then again I've seen what some people have posted trying to get one of us to get tat avian and not saying which server they're on. But all and all it could be useful to some and not to others. I'll give it a shot. Come back in a month with a survey on it and if it is being used then keep it, if not scrap it. No harm no foul.

Actually now that i look at it and see the "Big game" "Harvest" "Track" thing at the top. Its really going to be good. Looks good.

You might have jumped the gun a little there Calc. But thanks for this. This is the thread to put together how the list will look. Then there will be, if i read it right, a followup thread on the actual one right? If this is to become the official one. Lets get it started.

I thought this was going to be run like the last one...sign and it will be updated...I can always unsticky it and put up the new one (if there is one) when the time comes. Lists such as this are always changing, so it has to be an active thread to work properly...Does that get my point across?

Well if it is stickied the idea wont get lost.

Well we don't really need to unsticky this one I'll just edit it on saturday morning to be the actual list. Then It shall be renamed "Active Rangers For Hire By Galaxy List (v 1.0)". Thanks for throwing it up top Calc. Hopefully this will tone down the amount of requests for service posts we get and get some of the rangers that need contracts some work.
