Thread: I cant belive this
With just about everyone doing CH now I figured a Range in PvP would be the one to do crowd control on all the pets. I know are traps cant be used on other players but I cant see why I couldnt use them on the pets.
Its a dream of several Rangers on the board to be able to use their traps against CH pets.
It would be a nice foil to CH in PvP combat to be able to do so, I agree. ![]()
Does anyone else out there think we should have a part in PvP? With out being able to use are traps on the 1 Milllion CHs out there what good are we in PvP.
Now I wonder if Im going in the right direction.
"With out being able to use are traps on the 1 Milllion CHs out there what good are we in PvP."
Actually I agree that we should be able to use traps on CH pets. I don't see why we shouldn't be allowed to, they are creatures after all. ![]()
Can only agree, a pet is a creature, so why can't a trap it senseless?
I can see where the Devs would have a problem with this, as droids, pets, faction troops, are all treated pretty much the same, with small exceptions. I imagine it would take a major re-programming for us to be able to trap "pets" as opposed to droids or faction troops. But wow, would adhesive work on those AT-STs?? Flash bomb a droid? Sonic pulse a squad of stormies.... boggles the mind it do !!!

Not your friendly park ranger, ask me for directions, I can tell ya where to go
that will be absolutly great.
But I do have to say as a part time CH, in order for that to happen they should uner ch some, not to much but some.
I believe the reason they took this option away is because people were using it to get trapping XP. I assume two people would agree not to kill each other and then one would let the other trap his pet over and over.
I don't understand why they'd nerf an ability because players had a way to "work it". That type of grinding is slow and dull dull dull dull, but if players want to go through it to gain XP, then what's wrong with that?
In UO, we used to have guild wars all the time for competition, prizes, and for XP. Friends would get together and fight for hours to gain XP and socialize. I, personally, grand-mastered stealing with a friend by the two of us stealing a weighted bag back and forth from each other for a month while we chatted about how we were going to take over the world.
As much as being a skill-earning game, SWG is a social experience. If players want to work together to earn XP off of each other... even by killing each other or trapping each other's pets... it should be allowed.

- Agree on the problem, but the method of fixing it was bizarre. ![]()
"Seems to me that a better solution would be to not give XP for trapping pets but still allow it."
- Agreed, this would have been a better solution, but we aren't in the devs shoes (though I wish I was
)
