I apologize if this has already been addressed, but whenever I use it, I'm not getting the XP and I am seeing the big red exclamation point over creatures heads, but it never says "you have been detected.."

Yeah, known issue.

Check out the Scout boards and read the Dev Report... should be fixed to some sort of working order in an upcoming patch (seems to be on Test Center already).
