One thing to add that I think makes perfect sense. Tracking. I was out with a CH friend of mine trying to help him find a rancor to tame and felt like it should be the kinda job I was built for.

I'm thinking something like the way resources are surveyed for. Creature (resource) not located, go this way...

Another especially tasty aspect of this could be increased notice of creatures, rather than the current ~90m range for noticing creatures, have an increase to that. Smells like Krayt's ahead

All said, I'm somewhat unsatisfied with the ranger profession as a whole. Seems like we're lacking a certain something over other professions. Our main function is tossing up a camp (the xp for which isfar tootime consuming) and throwing a couple marginallyuseful traps (compared to scout) and being a bit better at harvesting hides.

Currently I'm working with a few levels into bounty hunter, carbineer, anda touch of creature handler. It's very hard not to drop ranger in favor of CH and some more weapon skills. Maybe if traps could be used on npc targets as well as mobs...maybe with a greater variety, and better effect selection. And if I didn't still think an idea I had towards the end of beta, carry a generic house deed andcrafting stations, was a better answer than high end camps. (solves both the battle fatigue problem, and you can craft from it as well if necessary.)

Comments on either are more than welcome
