Seems that trying to escape by running uphill from Banthas is not working. I think I have lead feet now since patch. Anyone else having this problem?

Perhaps you stepped in the adhesive-like Bantha fodder?

Yea that bantha poodoo can be nasty.

Tell us at what level are in terrain negotiation. If you are ranger then this should not be a problem. I was easily out running them on hills as master scout. Even on flat ground I can usually outpace them. You might be bugged, or have the /takecover, move slow bug. Or you started moving while sitting and "auto stand" instead of using /stand first. Those 2 things make you move slow. Test running with another player that doesn't have terrain neg. and see if you are faster up hill.
