Thread: Camo Kit

I experimented with this a bit last night on Dath.

First was a critical failure. I then succeeded on each attempt I made, I made about 75 kits. Experimenting yielded 15 kits per attempt.

It seemed to work okay...I was in a group of about 8 people and concealed each one. We didn't get aggro while commuting. One of the people ran up to normally aggressive mobs and it held up fine...no aggro.

One thing that bothers me is that it drops during melee combat. We had one melee in the group and it seemed to drop as soon as the mob was engaged. When a mob engaged a pistol user it appeared to do the same thing - drop. Essentially Melee users will suck down the camo kits.

Still if you don't have melee users...send in the pets to hold aggro and have ranged attacks.. Camo kits seem to old up.

You initiate combat and your camo goes away, as does maskscent. The creature/NPC you are fighting knows you are out there from your weapon use and "can see you". Makes sense.

As to melee, I guess it should be counted as a blessing you get to walk up to an aggro creature and give him/her/it the first few hits before getting whoomped upon. Never could understand the melee people, but hey, a buddy is one, I get lots of medical XP healing him, so no worries.

What type of station do you have to be near to get the experimenting option? I was trying to make them last night sitting by a Food & Chem andthen a Weapon, Droid, General Crafting stations and I couldn't experiment using either one. Is it possible my resources were so bad that I don't get an experimental option?

Were you using a general crafting tool or a weapon and droid?

You need to be near the Weapon, Droid station, using the weapon and droid crafting tool. The general tools will never give you the option to experiment. Also, make sure you don't open the tool until you are within melee range of the station. It seems to "check" how near you are to the station when it is first opened.
