I babble. I ramble. I digress. I get into tangents. Oh and this could be long. You've been warned

Ohh how I love our profession. Random tells requesting assistance in killing krayts (and the loot that comes with it), not really ever worrying about red dots anymore (camo rules!) and of course the oohs and ahhs as people come to my camps just cuz they saw it from 500m away.

There are however issues:

1) Camo Kits: Implementation improving significantly with the improved duration and removed flora components. Good work GreenMarine. However, they are implemented completely wrong. This "charges" thing, its horrible. Particularly now that it breaks whenever entering combat. There was a brief moment where I had my nice unlimited charges bugged kit. Great. Instead of charged kits (thatrequire us to use the very resources upon which we rely for income), each kit should be the reward for a quest on each planet. This quest kit would be unlimited in charges, so the quest would have to be indepth. With the ability to /conceal anyone at any time, it will become much more common place to just slap on a conceal as a way to say hi. I did this. PEOPLE LOVED IT. I would be willing to make you a deal GreenMarine. Have a contest on the forums here for people to write the best planet specific quests. Something w/ some local lore, and all that kinda' thing. The winner for each planet receives an ingame camo kit for each planet. We do the hard part of the development, all that is left is popping in a_random_npc_01 to the script! Leave current cert structure for use of kits. You make the contest, we do part of your work, deal?

2) Terrain Negotiation(TN) and Burst Run Efficiency(BR): Ok I'm a moron. Not only am I Ranger, but I am also scout (duh) and SL. You cannot spend more points on these two horrible skills than I have. By the time I'm done, I'll prolly have a full 42 points in them. Ok BR, what a waste. I compared my efficiency to an artisan with ZERO scout skills. Oooh I saved an extra pixel of HAM. Yippie. If this skill doesn't let me burst run all the time, then its pointless. I don't care about that pixel if I am running for my life. 6 skill points is enough to novice in a whole other profession! TN, I can crawl. Actually I can crawl like a madman! Who gives a vorrt butt? Every single advancement in the TN field should all fall in scout. They're trivial (after the first) and certainly do not deserve position in a whole line of an Elite profession. I'm not even gonna' mention how mounts (who according to latest info will maintain consistent burst run speeds) can render this skill line even more valueless. We'll assume you've considered this and have processes already devised to bypass such an obvious oversight.

3) PvP ineffectiveness. In no way do we help PvP. I've already killed about 5 dozen krayts. When PvE loses its appeal all that remains is the GCW and the tons of dev hours, company resources and game content that it offers. Eventually PvE will lose its appeal to everyone.

4) Traps and Camp usefulness. Already you've committed to addressing this in future releases. Lures, hunting blinds, goooooood stuff. Really, great work. Can't wait to see them.

Really that's it. Love the profession. Love the "image". Fun class. Lovin' the game, thanks for all your hard work.

PS- On the off chance a dev reads this, please please please send GreenMarine over to the Squad Leader threads for some of the same stuff he did for the Rangers.

2 other great ranger ideas that have been circulating.

1) Fish traps. People need fish. We should be able to give it to them.

2) Ranger crowning jewel. Master ranger only ability. I really like the semi permanent structure, and the "hunting mode" ideas. The one where you sacrifice combat and scout xp for greater damage against creatures. Excellent.

another thing. Sorry, spacey...

Foraging. It sux. Master rangers like me should be able to select whether they want to forage for food or for fish bait. Then they should CONSISTENTLY get like 5 of 'em. They're useless really, so giving us more should be NP. Except for feeding pets of course. And they should stack.
