Ranger terrain negotiation doesn't count for anything more than Scout negotiation unless you are -crawling- away from a mob...

I think creature mounts are gonna kill the reason to be a Ranger. If you can travel on a animal just as fast as a Ranger can run, then might as well use all those Ranger skill points into another profession. It seems like this creature mount thing will be cool, but it will defeat the purpose of terrain negotiation, thus making Ranger practically useless. One idea is that Rangers should be the ones that make the mounts for the creatures or that creatures that the Ranger owns, runs faster than a creature that a BH owns.

Huh?

What does mount speed have to do with hurting the ranger profession? Terrain negotiation is a nice plus, but I would venture to say most rangers enjoy the stealth+/creatureharv+/camps the most. Plus, people still need rangers to go along on large hunts if they want a tracker or a place to heal faster.

Terrain negotiation isn't the only useful ranger skill... What about tracking, creature knowlege, camps, traps, etc.

There's no shame in asking RTFM questions any more, because these days, there are just too many FM to R.

Rangers terrain negotiation is useless unless you like crawling, because that´'s all it does

Not quite. Try running from stuff through the mountains without ranger terrain negotiation/burst runmods and get back to us after you clone.

The burst run efficiency does help some, but the terrain negotiation doesn't after master scout. But what about on large flat plains? The terrain negotiation bonus doesn't have nearly so much effect on that and running 3km to your house and then back to town to pick one thing up can get boring. Mounts are a good thing. I'm not going to drop master ranger just because I can have mounts now. I still need it to track the baby mounts to tame

Been there, and done it plenty of times, enough for me to notice not a difference on terrain negotiation (and I had a running competition against a BH friend, she was as fast as me)... And who was talking about burst run mods? You didn't in the post I answered to, and no one else did, that is a different thing than terrain negotiations...

Come back when you tried it...

They should give us a boost speed when creature mounts come out. So we can be the fastest riders.

All i can say is i can pass a master scout even if he is ahead of me, i eventually pass him. We do move more quickly because terrain doesn't slow us down as much. It isn't easily perceived visually but if you watch carefully you will notice that you do indeed move more quickly.

Will race any master scout, in game name is Keito. You will lose.
