Pardon if you have seen part of this before. This is a expansion of what I posted as a reply in another thread.

Please, this may get lost but i need to post anyway

I chose Ranger specifically because it gave me a PVE advancedskill and focus.

Not all Rangers are ranged weapon users, or want to be Para-Military types.

I chose Ranger back when it first went SWG first went Live after participating since Beta.

I am a Master Ranger/TKM. This pretty much uses all my Skills. Please do not make a particular weapon skill as a "Must Have". I know there is a bonus to ranged that I do not use and can live without, but do not force us into a more confineing role.

I also do not participate in any PVP or GCW. I have no desire to be Rambo or a Army Ranger. I chose my skills because I saw a way to play a Trandoshan that could take on the Beasts of the galaxy tooth and claw up close.

I am all for the Ultimate Outdoorsman as long asthere is a Big Tent to what is considered a "Outdoorsman".

Sincerely,

Mangle

"I am a Master Ranger/TKM."

Considering that is my skill set as well, I think you have a good chance of being heard.

There are people out there that don't want to participate in the GCW? No. Not on these board.

*ducks a massive LART that is headed my way*

You have summed up the reasons that I have chosen my path the way that I did. It's something that makes me feel good and useful to my community at large. Plain and simple.

Thank you for posting this.

When i look at the Direction that this Ranger discussion is being Pusher I do not see a Range or ultimate Outdoorsman. I see a combat profession with all kinds of GCW goodies And PVP perks. I do not see the wilderness emphasis nor the outdoors aspect taking a front seat (more like a U-Haul in the rear). You can only stretch things so far. Heck you could even make a arguement for (enter hyperbole) Spaceport camps because "arn't they built outdoors? :-)

Well I am also a Teras Kasi/ranger. I love my combo and I pay tohave fun. Diversity is what makes a game good to me. By putting constraints on a profession, it makes your play sessionlimited and stale. I have never pvp BUT if I did I would want my preferable prof(ranger) to at least have some viable way to do so. I also want to be able to have some hand in the GCW, pve or pvp, whatever. It is Star WARS afterall. We all have our idea of what is fun, I guess my point is that we need to support each other's goals with this game and try to come up with compromises hence the new proposals. So have fun however you have fun. We or at least I for certain will try to come up with ideas that don't step on anyone's toes.

"I see a combat profession with all kinds of GCW goodies And PVP perks. I do not see the wilderness emphasis"

I would have thought the harvesting bonus, the creature-to-hit modifier, the traps that only work on creatures would have suggested the other emphasis.

To follow that line into the stratosphere... Then we should be Architects as all buildings are built outdoors.
