Does a camp generate XP faster for you in a camp, if you're actively healing your own wounds? Or is the XP only created when someone is actually getting medic XP (ie, healing someone else).
If just healing yourself increases the rate, hell, I'm permenently claiming a spot near the sarlacc pit. Jesus that thing can generate rot!
Even if not, wouldn't the most efficient way to get camp XP be to get a friend, both get nailed by disease at the pit, and trade off setting up camps and healing each other, no?

Ok, a trick, for you and a medic buddy.
Duel, letting the medic wound you. Camp. Medic heals you, gets XP. Oh, he's in your camp, you get faster XP, not more, faster. While he is healing you, craft camps, you get more XP for crafting camps, and it speeds up the XP for the camp.
I did this/do this all the time for medics/entertainers who need xp. Duels are fun, just drop all your good stuff off to avoid decay fi you are gonna DB.

As I understand it pretty much hanging out in your camp doing anything will generate more Survival XP for you.

On a slightly related note:
Can you build an immunity to a disease?
I've been diseased by the sarlacc like 5 or 6 times now. I can't seem to get it now, no matter how long I hang around it.
