Ranger Archive

Hey guys i'm an Master of TKA and starting Ranger . I have seen good and bad w/ these combos. I would like to hear from you guys. what is your opinon. on use eighter w/ being Ranger. I know, I have read the post but, I would like to hear from you that has the experiance. the pros and cons, of being, Ranger/rifleman and Ranger/TKA.

One down side, and admitidely its not a big one, to the Ranger/Rifleman combo is that the optimal range for the good PvE rifles, Laser and T-21, is greater than the maximum range to use traps. So to use your traps, you, you are sacrificing some rifle damage in order to use the traps. This is particularly true while grinding trap xp because you want to stay closer than 50m to keep throwing trap after trap after trap. This is more of a problem with the laser which has a huge min/max damage split, because keeping at proper range impacts whether your closer to the min or the max damage.

Good, TK kicks big butt, you can heal, and your specials don't kill ya.

Bad, you must close with the mob to hit it. Some mobs give big owwies when you do this.

Some mobs like to group on you. Ranged people can pull on at a time, TK has a problem with that.

Hey, my favorite hunting partner was TK, but kept pistol too. She was no dummy. Start with pistol, bleed it, let it come to her weakened, do her flung poo stuff on it, and she would win. Then I taught her how to pull one and she was happy as a little clam. Til her next holo said BH. Poor lady, haven't seen her in daze, out there finding and killing marks.

Not a bad combo, there are worse. (carbine comes to mind)
