It took me awhile to think of the reason we need Creature Damage Mitigation tht I brought up in your thread. But it came to me last night. The Devs have stated that you will need to have melee mitigation to tank creatures after the combat revamp is complete. Since we are the penultimate creature hunters we need the mitigation to stand a chance against the animals.

What do you and the rest of this fine community think about this?

Ok. Then a Melee Ranger will be the best at doing that, as it should be. But I believe it should be the Melee portion of the equation that should provide the ability to tank.

We have asked for an increased dodge... Personally, I like the idea of not being hit at all, rather than taking less damage when I am pummelled.

My take on this has always been we know what parts of the animal to avoid to be hit less, as in a dodge which I also like better, but from experience we also know how to take hits from animals to reduce the total damage we take.

Do we realize that mitigation on most creatures is pointless? Level 3 mitigation on a range of 500-510 is still 504 damage.

Mitigation is only of use on a few rare creatures and NPCs.
