I love being Master Ranger. With the decrease in healing effectiveness for Combat medics, and the emphasis on their offensive abilities I don't think I can ever go back to my second favorite profession. I've been turning in xp since the Village was introduced, and since I got my 4 boxes, I've just been padding my FS exp. I think I'm up to like 1.5 million senses exp now.My guild know's I'm Ranger, and if they need resources they know they need to join me on a hunt to maximize their take. Last week I found one of the top 5 hides to ever appear on Sunrunner, Rorian Wool. After 3 days of at least one series of missions with at least a 4 person group we've managed to harvest around 2 million units of Wooly Hide. 2 daysin a row I'd have over 100k of hide in my pack. Pre-CU the most I'd ever been able to tolerate harvesting was around 70k of Dantooine Leather for an architect.Thiswoolis so amazing that I kept 1k of it for myself as a trophy hehe.

My point with all that is to emphasize how much I enjoy Ranger, but despite all that, I don't wear the Ranger title. I tried it for the first fewmonths, sometime in '03, but found that the tells fromneedy doctors and armorsmiths weren't worth keeping the title. Since then I'd keep one of the cool Carbineer titles, or when they fixed it, no title at all, for that extra degree of anonymity.

Quick poll, how many of our die hard forum Rangers DON'Twear the title?

just use /anon. You can keep your title up, but you don't appear on the /who list (and the planet search list), which is what generates the tells. I've gotten a few tells from walking through a starport or such, but not the constant stream that you get if you have your title up and aren't set to /anon.

Congrats on finding the rori wooly though - I've had a few of those myself.

I get tells now and again from randoms asking for help with the hero of tat quest or a jedi hunt. I started throwing out VERY large sums of money as my fee. Most turn away, but a few have bitten, so I'm happy to do it. It's win/win. Don't mind going about my own business but also don't mind making 2 million credits for 20 minutes of tracking

I do my best to remain in character, at all times. As a result, I like to minimize all the clutter that floats over my head. If someone wanted to know what I did for a living, they could get to know me. However, I've recently begun wearing my Ranger pin. I'm not sure why, but it might be an act of defiance. Defiance against whom, or what, I do not know. For the time being, it remains on display.

I played for the second time in 7 months tonight and went hunting on my server with someone I met at the Dant mining outpost looking for a group. We rode past some Jedi hunting pikets, of course. I respec'd for the 4th time to MBH, Pistoleer, and a few other skills. As we were hunting hurtons I stated that I found myself wishing I had my Pdarts and in fact I kind of wished I had master Ranger back. The funny thing was he agreed. He had also come back recently and found himself wanting Master Ranger back even with the respecs. The company was good, the combat was good, the title, traps, and all the other Ranger accessories were missing, even as broke as many of them are. I know hind sight is 20/20 but when the devs gave ranger a cl rating they should have added defense mods to the survival tree then it would be more manageable i think. Harvesting seems viable, trapping (no comment but its good right now), add some defense mods to survival and maybe a decoy trap to delay additional creatures that enter aggro and I could be happy till a respec when ever that may be.

I have had my Master Ranger title up from the day I got it and have never taken it down. Although at times I feel that having the title up meant I was an idiot for keeping a broken profession. Everhopefull that Ranger will be fixed, until then being a Ranger is a lifestyle.

I wear my Master Ranger title with pride.

I have my character searchable, and I don't get very many tells at all....

I wear my tag.I have a macro setup on my toolbarto handle tells, if I'm busy.

It just asks that any requests for service be sent by e-mail so that I have a record of the order.
