Thread: CLs?

I have been seeing several references to levels and such thingsin some posts. CL, as I last knew it, meant "creature level", referring to a monster's level. But it seems like people have been referring to themselves in CLs. What does it mean now, and is the game progress through some sort of level system?

Basically, levels now have special benefits. Increase in health, up to the cap of the species. Mine is 2900 at CL 80. Humans are the highest I think. That or Wookies.

Level increases:

  • Health

  • Damage resistance across the scale of the enemy's min and max damage potential

  • What weapons you can use. All weapons have a CL requirement now. Go check out the weaponsmith forums. There's a sticky on what weapon is certed at what level.

  • Damage potential against enemies lower than yours increase as your level difference increases according to theirs, but xp isn't any higher than 1 at about 10 levels below yours.

  • Mission enemies spawn at near your level if they are from a player city or are not on the 3 core planets' NPC cities / outposts.

I assume it means Character Level. From a RPG standpoint CL was always Creature Level to me too, and I continue to call it that when I'm reading the forums. *shrug*

This is horrible! I return to find my new title on the forum is "Jedi". What's up with that? If they wanted to confer that I'm rare and learned, they'd make my title RANGER. and then make it camo colored.

guys....it is univeral.... CL = combat level.

Master weaponsmiths (or any other support profession) may not have an 80....even though their charactor is stacked with skill points....he may still only be a CL 1.

Not creature level.... Combat level....
