Thread: Am I borked re: Trapping
Your trapping modifier determines the CL of enemy you can trap.
If you are CL 63, fight against CL 63 creatures. If you only get 1 xp, then try trapping higher CL creatures and hope that you can kill them successfully.
I just went thru all this with a bunch of folks in the thread started by me. Take a look. Unfortunately Trapping XP isn't attainable if you've got to like CL20 or so. All the explanations are in the thread.
The only options we have is..
- Use up your RESPEC token
- Drop skills until your back at CL10, then trap and get XP
- Wait for a fix from the Developers to this issue.
The Correspondant also has a thread up with 100+ posts on it. So you're not alone...
Ugh, man I was hoping to avoid dropping to backtrack, but I was afraid that'd be my main/only option. Thanks for all the replies. I'm having a seriously difficult time solo'ing at my own level, but I'm going to keep at it, and hopefully land enough traps to gain. I really really don't want to have to backtrack, and respecc'ing is just not ... right? ... fair?
If I wanted 'easy' I'd be a BH.
No, I wanted a challenge, and what more challenge than ... Ranger. ![]()
heres the thing, i was hunting the other night and almost everyone in the group was level 80, so i decide for giggles to throw a trap, i got ove 5k trapping xp. i was stunned because i though that the trapping was really broke (so much so that i respec'd the trapping line and redid the traking line)
then I noticed that all the mobs were level 81....
so if you get in a group, make sure you keep an eye out on the level 81/82 mission.
supprised the heck out of me!

As it happened, I was worried all for nothing. I got home and logged in. I noticed I had a trapping skill of +60. My CL was 71. I bought a crate of +21 Dweezel and proceeded get into a Dantooine group killing Pickets and an hour later, all four boxes of Advanced Trapping were behind me, as well as Master Ranger. So, I am now Master Rifleman / Master Ranger, CL80. Didn't have to give back anything to do it, either. 4 points left over, with plans to start Force Sensitivity and do enough Village questing to get Combat Prowess for the Ranged Accuracy and Ranged Speed first two levels each.
Thanks to the two Master Rangers who helped me this evening.
