Thread: Calculating damage? How?
As Eclipse apparently just got the T21s I was going to make a few calculations if you could still hit higher max damage with the broken armor rating or not than a laser rifle. But the formula I thought was used doesn't seem to be correct.
With my current laser rifle it has a base max damage of 580 (sliced and powerups). I can do 3500 damage against creatures with headshot 3. Problem is I don't know how.
The HS3 should give the max damage 580*1.5=870. Then if the mob has an armor rating for 0 that should give 870*1.25*1.25*1.25=1699. How come I hit for the double? What have I missed?

I think you double the original max damage so, 580*2=1160 then add the HS3 bonus 1160*1.5=1740
1740*1.25*1.25=2718.75 total damage
However Iwas under the impressionthat HS3 diddouble the damage which would comeout as3625.
This is all guesswork, don't know anything for sure. ![]()
Well if I double it it's more correct yes, but why should I? And according to swgcenter the HS3 damage is 1.5 (HS2 1.25 and HS1 1.0). But even if HS3 was 2.0 that wouldn't make it correct.
580*2.0*1.25*1.25*125=2265
Still no where close to the damage I do.
Ok, here is how it all works:
Combat window number is raw unadjusted number before AR and resists.
Auto Attack dmg range is 1.5x the base stats on your weapon.
SWGCenter is wring on the damage multiplier of specials.
Headshot1 had a dmg mult of x1.5, Headshot2 has 2.5 and Headshot3 3.0.
Now with a laser rifle 20-580 on an AR0 opponent you will do:
30 (20x1.5) - 870 (580x1.5) auto attacks in the combat window
47 (20x1.5x1.25x1.25) - 1359 (580x1.5x1.25x1.25) auto attacks overhead
90 (20x1.5x3) - 1610 (580x1.5x3) heashots3 in the combat window
141 (20x1.5x3x1.25x1.25) - 4078 (580x1.5x3x1.25x1.25) heashot3 overhead
I found all those multipliers through in depth in game experimentation in the last month of playing and I am 100% sure that they are correct, so here you go.
