I don't understand why we get the title "Hunt Master" (or "Hunter" in the scout line. I mean that if i only grind xp to "Hunt Master" and nothing else, all i can hunt are durnis and the like. The real title for this tree should be "Master Butcher" or maybe "Bioscience Professor". In no way a "Hunt Master" is able to hunt without taking any marksman or brawler skill.

They should also rename the "Ranger" a "Poacher" as we it is actually what every "ranger" is.

The more i grind into explo/wayfaring, the more i need xp, the less i can earn any. Harvesting isn't affected by that: unfair.

Rangers need to have their reco abilities upped. They need to be able to earn scout xp without killing anything. I say: Remove the decrease in scout xp from the Maskscent command.

Also, animals have really small aggro range (most of them, except some really ferocious) but NPC have huge one. I can prevent an animal (you know ? the kind of being that can see/smell/hear far better than humans) from detecting me, but i can't sneak any NPC: that's pretty stupid (unless all NPC are master trackers).

I think you have a point in saying that, were we in character (and I try to be at all times) we wouldn't go around slaughtering animals by the truckload. That said, I don't agree with your solution to the problem. When considered in conjunction with the fact that many other professions require the hide, bone, and meatwe harvest, I must say that the current situation is one I'm more inclined to stay with.

Actually, all i ask for is an alternative to the slaughtering. I want to earn scout xp the way i am playing my toon (an explo guy). Actually, the alternative is in the game when you still have only explo 2 or 3, but above that lvl, you earn crap xp. Actually, i earn 13xp for sneaking a lvl 18 creature, and MS fail every time i try to sneak anything lvl 20 or more (and i have wayfaring 4). I loose MS to a Corellian Butterfly Drone, 10m from Coronet last night.

I agree that many love killing animals then skinning them for money, but not me. On top of that, it require heavy hunting groups to get good harvests as most low lvl planets only give you crap (not all ressources are crap, but most).

I will just add: To actually be a "Hunt Master", we should be able to hunt something with our skills alone. Why don't we get a hunt rifle in scout profession and an adv hunt rifle in ranger ? Both in the appropriate skill tree, with the appropriate +accuracy +speed and the like ?

Of course, those rifles would be either useless against humanoides (traps anyone ?) or hitting a pool that can be healed by medics.

Hmmmmmm....... hunt rifle for scouts and dart rifle for rangers (with 1 or 2 specials...). It would be great as the ranger would actually be able to "hunt" with his skills alone, and won't walk on the marksman field (don't work on humanoides).

If you're looking to gain XP by roaming around "exploring" and pretty much doing nothing you're looking for the "Nomad" or in modern terms "Bum" profession. Why do people think this would be a profession, I've seen it mentioned several times before and I don't get it. Even a 2 hour newbie can run around dots on the radar, you want a whole profession dedicated to it? I agree it would be nice to see maybe a cartography skill or just something added to the explore/wayfarer lines but thats about as far as I'd take it.

As for being a "Hunt Master" with no marksman skills, well that would be funny to see. The training in the use of weapons is diferent than the training we do as scouts/rangers, one compliments the other; geting semantical about it and saying it doesnt say anywhere you "need" the marksman skill is just that, semantics (and common sense, or lack thereof).

On the NPC/creature aggro issue I do agree with you though, pirates will spot me 2000m away through 3 mountains a lake and a river, while I can run right up to most creatures and find out what they had for dinner. (Yes, I exaggerrated but its still true )
