Thread: Question on Rangers and Factories

So my inventory needs have compelled me to use Crates for Scout and Ranger Traps and Camps. I've been grinding them out at a fair clip recently and maintaining a pretty good stock (while lamenting the default action on Crates being "Split Crate").
I have a question though:
If the factory owner is within 64m of their factory while it is running, they are supposed to get some form of Crafting XP for it. Professions off of the Artisan Baseline would get General Crafting XP (GCXP)
Do Scout/Rangers get the same? Would they get GCXP, or Wilderness Survival XP, or anything at all?

You get no type of scout or ranger xp for using a factory to build traps, camps or camo.

From what I gather from the Artisan Corr.no one gets any form of experience from factories anymore, whether they are making cookies or producing siding.

From what I understand, factory exp is bugged and has been for quite some time right now. In other words, no experience can be gained from any factory run.

However, you can save inventory room by running camps and some of your favorite traps through the factory so they are crated.

Yep, that was my primary reason for using the Factory The XP would be nice, but I'm fine with the pace I'm going.

Perhaps you have considered making a crate of camps, traps, etc. in the factory and "practicing" while crafting individual camps, traps, etc.? This gets you your xp and keeps the clutter down, but "wastes" resources, so to speak. BTW, do you, Darniaq, or anyone esle know how insurance works on crated items? It isn't worth it if I have to insure 25 camps at 200 cr a pop.

One nice little thing they've fixed since the patch last week is the default action of doubleclicking crates. It has been reverted to its old default of Get Item rather than Split.
