Thread: Need help Noob ranger question on grinding through wilderness survival (camping) xp...
This is for fronteiring 1-4
It's 105 points of xp for every tent crafted.
and you need 150,000 xp i think, so thats 1429 basic ranger tents.
however at front3 you get a new tent that 170 xp per tent.
476(bt)+588(at)=1064 tents
so you need 30hide 15bone 5metal for the first 476.
thats
14.28k hide 7.14k bone 2.38k metal
For the next 588 you need 40hide 25bone 20metal
thats
23.52K hide 14.7k bone 11.76k metal
total from start to finish is
37.8k hide 21.84k bone 27.99k metal
hope that helps.

OK - I know you camp and craft campkits while crafting...my question - anyone know howm much in hide and bones (metal is easy) that it will take to grind through this tree??? TY
My advice is don't grind. It just makes the profession boring. If you want to go up fast and have it be fun, go out with a group and do nothing but trap and make the highest camps you can. People will love you for it. Make sure your group hunts creatures. You'll go up so fast it'll make your head spin.

TY very much. I would like to enjoy ranger, but - 1) it ties up too many skill points in conjunction with master scout 2) Im doing profession grinding b/c what i really want from this game is a try at jedi...
Thanks for the info. Exactly what i was looking for.
I can understand your reason for grinding, but if you go to Dath, Dant, or lok with a group, you can gets some really good xp. I know that just throwing on trap at a Rancor on Dath will yield nearly 3-4k xp, and when you harvest it, nearly 2k xp. There is a way to get really good xp without having to grind, you just have to be willing to go out in groups, which is kind of moot point because rangers are ment to help groups.

Minor (very minor) corrections:
You only get 105 xp from the High Quality Camp if you make them in practice mode. Otherwise it's 100 xp.
You get the Field Base at Frontiering 2 (I just got it yesterday).
The Field Base is indeed 170 xp per craft. If you craft them in practice mode, they're 178 xp per craft.
In general, the way to tell how much XP you get for something is (total number of resources) x 2. The Field Base requires 85 resources (20 metal, 30 bone, 35 hide). 85 x 2 = 170. There are exceptions to this rule, but not many.
