I saw in a thread that people had not caught anything other than fish... I figured I'd post my brief experience in catching things other than fish...

I have done a LOT of fishing. Until a few weeks ago, I had never caught anything other than a fish. I was always fishing in the same spot... 4 stars for Fish, 0 stars for vegetation.

I tried a different spot. 4 stars for fish, 2 stars for vegetation. Low and behold, I caught a 2 handed Axe. I caught it when my line got snagged on some vegetation. Ironically, that was the last time I went fishing. I've been too busy doing other things other than SWG since then.

So... If you want to catch items, find a fishing spot that has vegetation. I can't give you any other info at this point because I haven't tested it thoroughly... All I have to go on is that I never caught items when there was no vegetation. As soon as I started fishing in vegetation, I caught an axe.

A friend of mine caught an armor attachment, so I guess it's the same random math as on a loot drop.

I have a house now on Rori (-24, -24) near a lake. BIG lake. It's a GREAT place to fish.

no point, just thought I'd say that . Just being there makes one wan to fish . Great thing to do after winding down from hunting for the next big thing the BE's want . Can I put any more smilies in a single post? yep

I haven't caught much loot when fishing but I do have a great spot right outside my door for fishing. There is a small inlet that is shallow enough to walk in and large enough to cast into. So I can run up to my bobber as soon as I have hooked a fish.There is also a much larger river slightly farther out in which you can do regular fishing as well. Anda nice view, too. If only I could fish offthe roof...

P.S. The Advanced Camp Kits(I think that's what the noviceranger ones are called)are great for fishing out of. Just set one up near the water and cast your line. They even get flooded occassionally.

You know.... I am really starting to wonder if it is possible to fish out a Holocron. I am wondering how large in size and random the "item-other-than-fish" list really is. I mean, it would take ages to consider one would think. Perhaps in a 5 star Vegetation 1 Star Fish spot on a tough planet (Endor)? Just food for thought.

I know you probably prefer not to share, but if there is any chance you could share this spot I'd appreciate it very much

I'm leveling up a Ranger on a different account and while the Survival XP is easy enough to gain via camping and trap/camp making, fishing is my preferred meathod as I can use the result on my BE, so any place that would increase my chances of actually pulling something in or at least reducing the ammount of time between catches would be a HUGE boon.
