Hi all, looking for your thoughts on adding the tracking tree to BH skills. In particular, I'm trying to find teh best supporting skills to add to BH, and Tracking seems like it might have some significant advandages on jedi bounties. Has anyone had any experiance with this? Thanks in advance.

This has been discussed on this board before. Most Rangers are not in favor of the BH skill tree getting tracking. This is one of the things that makes Rangers unique. We would rather partner with you and help you track marks if you need it. You will find the Ranger community very interestedin working with folks and providing our services.

If you want to add novice ranger and add the tracking tree, you wil find that the skill is rather useless for what you want to do with it until you have about mastered it. You can't trackother players til the last box. Until then you can find animals and NPCs, but not players. Also, no waypoints. You get a direction initially, then it refines, and then adds a distance.

As to adding it to the BH skill tree, probably not gonna happen. Use your droids.

I believe FlooredMusic's inquery was not a design consideration...

  • Rather a "I have some skill points left over, should I spend them in Tracking?" question.

Well if I were a BH and I had the sp's to both novice Ranger and make the 4th box in tracking, I would most certainly do it.

I have faith that Ranger at least is one proffesion that will eventualy be fixed. Tracking included.

With NRaas in our corner we cant go wrong !

If in fact you meant to put tracking in BH then I would say NAY. But I agree with NRaas in that you were looking to add it to your set-up.

I'm wondering about this as well.. I would only use it to track voritors or rancors or other such things, players don't intrest me. Would tracking I and novice ranger be sufficient?

At Novice and Tracking I you would get only get direction (not distance) and your radius would be smaller than someone who went further up the Tracking line. As a reference point, Master Rangers get a 500m radius, you would have much less.

I'm a BH and was told by a holo to get master ranger. I like the tracking skill. When we go kyrat hunting or for kimo's on lok I can help find them quicker. Also the camps are cool. As far as working it with BH, I think you would at least need tracking 3. This gives you distances. Which can be helpful. Also I have dabbled in CH and feel that for master CH's ranger would be a good profession to get. Two reasons, one, for the better burst run, in case of agro, and also for the higher level of mask scent. Two, obviously tracking is the very helpful for CH's. If anyone thinks of anything else or has any comments reply here. Thanks

My thoughts on giving tracking to BH'ers. NO NO NO NO!!!!

Ranger is a support class. Without tracking we're simply a jacked up scout. Our creature bonuses aren't even enough to show a different between when a ranger & a non-ranger shoots a creature. So stop trying to steal our skills.

I was once a BH so I understand what you're saying. I'll gladly team-up with a BH and help but tracking makes us unique and makes having a ranger in a group worthwhile if not recommended.
