To clarify in my earlier message

By stating that rangers are masters of creatures, What I meant was that the knowledge that rangers acquire makes thema master of creatures but that could also be said of creature handlers. I just wanted to broaden the scope of the ranger.

I would say have him keep his terrain mastery/traps/ knowledge of creatures but also give him npc/pvp bonuses that would aid in combat. A ranger is effective in combat against creatures i just thought it would be awesome if his elite abilities would make him effective against other targets.\

Now somebody mentioned a combination of professions to make what i suggested. I agree that it would be necessary to be another profession like rifleman but to make it so that the ranger would boost your combat abilities.

I also like the idea of a spec ops profession but i don't see ranger morphing so much that it becomes so much different than what it already is. I saw the different attacks and such as mere additions to what is already a pretty cool profession. I thought that this would make it even better.

If anyone has any further ideas about the direction i was going,I would appreciate your reply.

I also don't mean to make the ranger anything more than a support class but merely a more effective support in what I think the storyline is supposed to be about. The GCW. How does a man who can effectively hunt and kill animals but not sentient opponents help in the GCW. They do not need to be single man killing machines only more effective support in the main objective.

I also don't mean to compare SWG rangers with RL rangers. I had mentioned before that i was thinking along the lines of the navy seals or any other spec-ops group.

Thanks for listening.

"How does a man who can effectively hunt and kill animals but not sentient opponents help in the GCW."

We help indirectly, by providing the highest quantity of high qualityresources to the crafters...

  • Who in turn make armor / food / spice / medicines to supply to the fighters.

I agree that we could play a more direct role...

  • But we do play a valuable role right now.
