Thread: Prone Warp Bug, Redux

From last Thursday's hotfix notes:

Rubberbanding: Fixed a bug that could trigger movement validation errors on movement when a player was slowing down in some circumstances.

I stress-tested this all day yesterday. I would run full tilt and hit my Prone and Conceal Shot (or Headshot 3) hotkeys in quick succession.

Didn't warp a single time.

This is great news! I played around with it a bit last night, and didnt have a single instance of warping. Now the only problem is finding a spot to put /prone back into my hotkey set up

Actually for a day i didnt. But last night i was prone. And it wasnt until after i had been prone for a minute or two that i went back the usual 20-30m

Offtopic- looks like we got a fix for the stuck in space bug in buildings today. Havent had it happen to me today. Felt like a weird kind of clipping problem.

Actually i have not had the prone bug problem in a while. I am warping riding a mount now. It is strange and seems to happen quite a bit.

I used burst run into water and didn't warp back right into all those mobs that were chasing me, after that I was one happy bunny. I don't know what it is about warping but when I die due to it I really feel the need just to hit that power button and go and do something else.

Rubberbanding: Fixed a bug that could trigger movement validation errors on movement when a player was slowing down in some circumstances.

I stress-tested this all day on Sunday. I would run full tilt and hit my Prone and Conceal Shot (or Headshot 3) hotkeys in quick succession.

Didn't warp a single time. This marks a profound improvement over the previous 2-3 weeks.

Now! If they would just do the same for creatures! Went to Krayt Graveyard yesterday. A krayt warped on me from 100 meters away. Blam. Death. I took screen shots, though. LOL.

Now the question is:

  • Do you still warp when running headlong into a river?

According to Seflyn in this thread, that also seems to have been fixed.

Most excellent indeed.

  • Anymore affirmations would be appreciated.

I have hit the reset button Selfyn. Such a friggin drag to warp back to the mobs, but I can almost tell when it is going to happen now, because the mobs stop at where I am about to warp back too. So that tells me the server is still seeing me at the other spot even though my computer has me at a different spot. Will have to see if they have really fixed this though, I hope and pray that they have.

I've only tested it a little bit, but all cases seem to be fixed.

The burst run and mounts running into water were fixed first, then going prone a few days later. It may have even been my post to JustG explaining why it happens as best I can tell without direct access to the code. (Maybe not, but he did respond after my detailed post and it's fixed, so I'm going to let my ego believe I had a roll in this...)

Curious as to how you find the supposed fix to mob warping as well?

At Master, it wasn't much of a problem with the smaller critters, but always an issue with the huge ones. (i.e. Krayts/Kimos) Had a Krayt warp on me once last night allowing for a humiliating DB, but managed to see the other 2 warps coming and got out of the way (Best I could anyways- Krayts are as fast as burst run)

I'd be anxious to hear your findings on this. Thanks!
