Thread: Master Ranger and loving it
ive considered ranger as a profession, could you give me the benefits, what makes it enjoyable?
What do you like about the profession?
Go forth and bring down krayts, albatrosses, and goraxes. Why? Because you can. Other folks might need actual combat mods/defense modsin order to do that, but not you.

You know I can't really answer this question with something physical. It's the style of play and roleplaying that comes with Ranger for me. I enjoy being out in the middle of nowhere and still being at home. Iwish I could be more helpful but I can't explain it really, it's just something that makes me happy.
Well, personally I've been a MRanger for a couple of mnths now an di have to say that I enjoy it more because of the solo opportunities it affords. If I don't feel like joining another mindless xp group I can go out and take missions on my own and complete them. The added TN and BR plusses really make a difference also, especially when, for example last evening. when a friend and I went into the Geo Cave and got our @sses soundly handed to us, I was able to BR around and escape death.
And of all the features of Ranger, I have to say Area Track is still one of my favorite abilities. I have used it to hunt BS Spawns, Unique creatures, NPC's and during my short stint as a MBH, other players which really came in handy on Kashyyyk.
I make camps while crafting traps to keep 'in character' and I use traps all the time. My only "gripe" is that I wish traps would affect NPC's as well as creatures, but oh well... if that's my only problem with Ranger, than I can live with it.
My only difficulty now is settling on a good accompaning template. I dropped MBH for MCarbineer, but am thinking of going back to MBH only so I can fill the 4 FS branches I would use to enhance my template. (I'm in the minority, but I don't want to be Jedi, just have some of the FS skills for enhancement).
