Hang around outside one of the busier starports.....Coronet, Bestine etc. people are always aking to be trained there :-)

The macro is also a very good idea.

Just keep an eye on your spatial chat... and maybe hunt in some groups. I have never TRIED to gain AXP and I am always maxxed out. I just listen for anyone that is looking for training and if its something I have I send a /tell that I can help.

In front of a busy Starport you will have competition... look for requests all the time.

Oh.. and I have at least one friend that didnt know this.. you don't need "Ranger AXP" .. you just need AXP.. teach Medic Diag 1 or any other skills you have.. it doesn't matter what they are.

I also have never had to look for Apprentice xp... it has always found me.

Best advice I can give is:

~Keep your eye on spatial chat when in the cities.

~Don't wait until you are close to master to start to train people... if someone is looking for training in a skill you have, take an extra two minutes and train them.

~If someone is looking for training, don't tell them it will cost them x amount to learn it from you because you had to pay when you learned the skill.

I started training people who asked for it the minute I trained in my first skill. I have mastered 3 professions and maxed out my Apprentice points again within a day or so of training each master level. I have never "charged" for training and have neverhad to sitaround "selling" my training skills.

Hi, I just read the new Outdoorsman thread... WOW!

I want to be a ranger more than ever now. But alas I can't get enough AP to master scout. So far I've went around and asked people for training, but it is a slow going process. I like to RP so having someone just sit around and let me train them then release the points doesn't apeal to me. I have a question for all the rangers out there, any advice? How did you get the AP you needed to master any profession?

i set up a training macro that told what skills i had and asked people to send tells if they needed traing and did it as a shout. would give a "shou t out " every few min while waiting for shuttles.

Hi the unfortunate thing about AP is that you really don't start getting it until you master something. Then, when you run around with your master title up, people will chase you down and beg for training. They will even drive 4k into the middle of nowhere so you can train them (I always feel bad when someone does that though).

What I did to get enough XP to master scout was learned a bunch of artisan skills, and used those skills to stand around in the coronet cantina giving away jawa beers. Ithen waited for people to come into the cantina needing artisan training. I think I trained more artisans than scouts or marksmen, but let's face it, everyone has marksman and scout skills and everyone has a training shout macro'ed. Surprisingly few people are around who can or are willing to train artisan skills though.

I had a lot of fun, and it really didn't take me that long to get enough AP - I roleplayed a brewer of fine jawa beerswho ranged far into the corellien wildernessto seekout only the best quality durnies (wooly hide) for my brew, etc.... It was really fun to make up interesting shouts like 'Not made from those durnies that grub around the city" or "only 12 baby durnies in this batch of jawa beer," andI know that at least two people thought I was funny. The rest I think were AFK.

When you do finally get novice ranger, don't put your novice ranger title up right away. Leave your master scout title up until you get the AP that you need to master ranger. And yes, as Cressida has said, start listening at star ports, esp. those on the advanced planets....

I didn't really do anything. As soon as i got a title of Hunter or Trapper i put it on and people came to me. Same holds true today. I get Scouts and Rangers alike asking me for training whenever I have my Master Ranger title on. In my expierience if you have a title up and take the time to train people even if you dont need the AP people will come back to you or spread your name around to other scouts or rangers. I'll train anyone who asks me for it reguardless of wether i need AP or not, unless I am in a group with someone who needs AP points. I've never had to sit in front of a Starport yelling training 4/4/4/4 Scout or Ranger or anything but if all else fails you might need to.

It's never been a problem for me. I maxed out on AP well before I had any use for them.

Essentially, whenever somebody nearby would ask in spatial for training, I'd jump on it, just to be helpful (I had no idea that anybody would ever be desperate to earn AP).

In addition, the first time I joined a large hunting party, the leader told everybody in the group to train anybody they could. Do this whenever you're in a group. Target every othe member, and use the radial menu to see if they need anything you have.

Now this I dont agree with. I find it very annoying to keep having to refuse training that I dont want, ask first is the only way IMO.

I like the idea of RP in the cantina. I've found I've trained more in marksman or medic than scout and I only have level 2 and level 1 skills in medic. I'll give these a try in the next couple of days. Thanks again.
