There goes one of the money-making aspects of scouts and rangers, bah! I used to be able to haul in 50-150k a week selling basics

This means war!

I suppose it somewhat makes sense to remove the requirement, but it somewhat takes away from one of the key things that a scout...or a ranger for that matter...are good for.

Too bad we weren't even informed that this change wasbeing proposed...couldn't even propose an argument about why it should stay.

I suppose we can let it slide...we're rangers afterall

All the more reason to push for more in the camping arena.

Aye, The Corr. were taken off guard with this one as well.

I am a Master Ranger and I am somewhat happy about this change for the convenience but at the same time with this change camps now serve very little purpose. If you can call a droid without a camp, and every doctor/medic has a droid with a medical module, why would you EVER need a camp now, especially when a droid module has a better heal modifier than even the HTFB?

Well... I have lots and lots of basic camp kits sitting in my house that I'll have to unload before that patch release now.

But honestly... this is a very good change. I hated having to drop a camp down just to hop on my speeder.

Well, I'm fine with them doing this as long as they do something to make camps more useful (including, but not limited to, implementing the Modular Camp Proposal in NRaas' Outdoorsman vision document). As the camp system is currently, removingthe pet/vehicle callingrequirement will make camps basically worthless.

maybe this means theres a possibility that we (not rangers but players in general) can have an arguement for the use of Stim A's without novice medic. Heck if all those players now get 15 more skill points to play with those of us who are holding on to novice medic for silly reasons should get thrown a bone too.

I would estimate that 8 out of 10 of my camp drops are for pet / vehicle calling.

Dont really know what I will do with that skill now, i'll be making a lot less camps thats for sure.

Bah. Now my Ranger will just be a harvesting machine, nothing more and nothing less.

You can thank the CH community for this, they asked for this.

Sure, is this a novice scout kill ? Every man and his Gurrcat will be milkman, market will be saturated within a week. That's Ranger camping obsolete, CH vastly inferior to BE pets and my musician is still pointless. And I was going to renew my account this weekend, now i'm not so sure anymore.

Now THIS change would make me happy. I've been stuck with one useless skill point left over after master ranger/pistoleer and novice medic for months. I would love those 15 skill points used up by the manditory novice medic (for a soloer like me).

But that's another thread in another forum.........

Well, another one of our useful abilities has gone the way of the do-do! This is good for us! We can really push now for some bigtime cookies!

  • Terrain Neg = gone to vehicles and combat medics

  • Camp usefulness = mostly gone to new pet calling rules

  • /conceal = worthless as it is no better then /maskscent

I think we can see a pattern, and if we bring this to the attention of the powers that be, maybe we will get some extra luv. Or maybe they will just continue to marginalize our abilities and give them away to other professions.

I cant believe CH's would ask for this. They have to have novice scout, so they can easily make basic camp kits to call pets. Lazy. The whole profession is based on lazyness if you think about it. Making creatures do your work for you
