Thread: Fishing Problems...Anyone Else?

I haven't gone fishing in a whille, so I decided to give it a go for fun this evening.Rode my banthaoutside to the lake. Walked into the water. Went to cast my line and I get "you cannot fish while running". No problem, I get this from time to time. I wait a few seconds and try again. Same thing. Cannot fish while running. I tried sitting and standing again. Same thing. Got on my bantha and got off again, same thing. Anyone else having this issue or is it just me? Now, I want to fish dang it and it won't let me. lol.
Oh and before anyone asks, I DID have my fishing pole in my hand and it did have bait on it. LOL.

just keep at it...use /fish and it will go away after about 5-10 tries

All right. That was just weird. I went back to town, helped out a future ranger. Spent about 30 minutes doing that, came back out and I can fish LOL. Very strange.

I did not have this problem when I was fishing today. However, last week before i dropped tkm i had this problem when trying to meditate. I could not go directly into the meditation I had to /sit and then /meditate. While this was an easy fix for meditation it doesn't really help with fishing 
On a side note I noticed it happened more often when i was standing on a sloped hill. Did you perhaps try a different area of the lake to fish in?

Not sure if I was on a sloped part or not. Don't think I was. I tried running down stream to different areasm and kept getting that message. It only fixed itself when I went back to the city and helped out a scout/future ranger. Had to fly to Naboo then back to Corellia. Once I got back, it worked. I wasn't at the same spot though as the first time. So who knows. Just glad I was finally able to fish. Hehehe.

Had the same problem a few days ago. /sit didn't do the trick so being in a weird mood at the moment I did /duck, was then able to fish. Since then I've done /duck before fishing just because it seemed to work that one time, its now my thing. So if you ever see a funny looking bald guy do the duck dance in middle of a river on wonderhome chances are its me getting ready to /fish!

While the Empire has relaxed its rules on "Running while boarding a shuttle", the "Running while fishing" laws are still strictly enforced! No running near the water!
Seriously, this happens a lot. A temporary fix is to hold you Shift key down and walk a couple of steps. This works every time. If you have a /fish macro set up and placed in your function key row, you should be able to hold down the shift key and hit the macro without even walking.

Thinking about it a bit, I realized that I've seen this in another form. Sometimes you get the same sort of thing when dropping a harvester. It gives you the you cannot perform this action in your current state (the same thing you get while moving). Walking a few hundred meters away and then coming back fixes it. Seems like it might be a running state bug.
