I finally finished my phase 4 quest last night and unlocked my melee defense branch.
If you're force sensitive and haven't done this quest yet, try to make it out before phase 4 ends..
Even if you don't want to unlock melee or ranged defense, it's a great quest simply because ranger skills are actually useful and wanted by the group!
During 5 visits to the village to kill my number of Sith Outlaws (50) and Pirates (25) , I was actually asked to use these skills:
Camping - Every time in between sith attacks, someone asked for a camp to be set up so one of the entertainers could buff the groups mind. Surprisingly, most of these people had never seen a HTFB. Got the typical "Nice camp!" comments, and almost everyone was disappointed to find that camps didn't heal battle fatigue. It still served as a good entertainer buff location though.
/rescue - Got tons of requests for "Kimi can you /rescue me?" by docs so people could have the aggro pulled off of them while they ran out to rez players who'd died. It was also helpful for docs inside Paemos's hut who couldn't pull out medical droids to re-buff people. I /rescued them and they were able to pull out their droid. I also used /rescue on several people who were near death.. they were able to run inside the hut or had extra time to heal up. I used this command more in the past few days than I have since I became a ranger.
/areatrack - It was useful in tracking pirates. You can tab through the mob, but tracking gives you an overall idea of where they are and how many - if any. This is really only useful in the beginning. Eventually you'll be locked into permanent combat with a ton of aggros on you and you can't track.
Well, now that that's done... back to hunting scrawny birds on Lok.

Doing phase 4 was a blast even though I musta have died like 5 times. This quest really brought out group work from people.

The old man visited me just a few hours ago,so I'll eventually be around the village. My hopes is that I can acctually do well there as I dont suppose trapping and creature to hit bonuses really help against the sith.

Back before you could pull out a droid, speeder or creature without a camp and before uber doctor buffs Rangers were much more functional even with the flaws in our tree. Probably my greatest gripe is that all the changes made to make the game more "balanced and group" friendly have done the eaxct opposite of what was intended. In this case your camps hlped a lot but in the past the village groups would have been decimated without the help of a scout/ranger. Now only imagination if putting Dath Camo on a Doc really worked. A camouflaged doctor avoiding aggro at the village would be sight to behold. Or hitting a Sith Thug with a Glowwire Trap (which all traps are essentially grenades in SWG) to drop there defenses so the group can hit them. We have so much potential but we have been pushed backwards repeatedly that it frustrates me. Congrats that you were able to effectively help your group but in the past you and all Rangers were more effective at helping groups at least where our camps were concerned.
