Guys - just read Tigg's latest server announcement - saying no more daily restarts.

Now - I don't know about all of you guys' hunting habits, but mine personally are to do what hunting I can in the morning after a server down to catch all the wild spawns before missions remove them all.

While servers being more stable = good, can you see this change affecting you all for the better or worse - seeing as no more wild spawns are generated the longer the server is up. Currently I've been sat in the Krayt Graveyard for two hours harvesting the bone there and I've not found more than three natural spawns of anything there.

Do you guys happily hunt off mission terminals - or are you like me and try and catch wild spawns instead as they generate greater amounts of creatures and therefore resources.

Perhaps Owen-Lars, would it be a good idea to try and get them to increase the rate of wild spawning stuff. I don't like camping POI's to guarantee I'll find a particular creature type. I.E. Woolamander Palace for Yavin Wooly, Kimo Village for Lokian Leathery, as often those places are camped out by more than just rangers looking to earn their keep.

I don't know how the other boards are worried about this - but I am sure the Pikeman forums will be up in arms as Axkva Min will be even less frequent now.

so what happens with some of the once a day spawns? will they just spawn at the same time every day?isn't there a certain nightsister elder that only spawns once a day, and she drops the uber vibro motors that WERE a component to the Razor Knuckler for the week or so it was in live?

That's Axkva Min, she's a once per day (well - server reset spawn) that is required for the NS EL weapon.

forget the Energy Lance. I want the motors so i can get me a Razor Knuckler when they finally come back to the servers (supposedly it will be back when the Combat [insert word of the day here] happens.)

You want a game with a true 24 hour persistant server uptime. The fact that sony had a 2 hour daily downtime was a mark against SOE. It wont really change the hunting habits of the natural lairs because people still wont be logged in for the first half of the day.

As for the once a day stuff. It will just appear more randomly and less timed.

Just as long as i can find random spawns of creatures in the evening after work like i can now, i'll be happy. (except for Talus and Rori, those places are dead and need to be fixed)

Kimo town for lok leathery???? you'll get one GDK an hour there. sure the looted scales are worth a TON, but there are much more efficient ways to get lok leathery (i know because my town is on lok).

The Secret to Lok Leathery Hide (also the way to find Reclusive Gurk Kings)

Within 1.5km of the Imp Outpost POI are normally lots of wild gurk lairs. Find a lair named "a Nest" that spawns an assortment of gurks, it MUST have a Feral Gurk for this to work. These lairs will spawn a total of 20-30 gurks, at 110 units of hide or more per kill. Once the lair is destroyed, 9 times out of 10 a Reclusive Gurk King will spawn, along with some Shaggy Gurk Youths. The gurk king drops the looted hides for RIS, but also gives roughly 300 units of hide. in about 3 hours of gurk hunting i can come up with maybe 15k of lok leathery, maybe more, but if you just camp kimo town, you'll get maybe what 600 units of hide off a GDK (i never killed one, so i'm guessing) once every hour.

No - I hunt there as there's a frequent spawn of snorbals there too... just keep spawning nonstop while I wait for the GDK's/Kimo's etc... my point was more that now that spawns don't generate so much as servers are not resetting - is this an impact to anyone else? I've found the more a server is up - the less wild spawns there are. Maybe that's just me. Was wondering if anyone else hunted in a similar fashion and was affected by it - i.e. lack of wild spawn or did you all mission for stuff?

I am at work during the day, so i can't really compare my normal playing time to server restart time. i honestly didn't know that the lenght of the server uptime impacted random spawns in a negative way, but if that is the case, i sure hope that this new no server restart policy won't negatively effect spawns. on planets like rori and talus, it is already impossible to find random creatures.

Well, I know that Wanderhome has been a spawning mecca recently. I even found Black Sun with 1k of the Mining Outpost on Yavin the other night (yes, night). I am not sure how other servers stack up, but Wanderhome is good to go for longer uptimes. I would assume that the once a day spawns are on a timer and will still spawn once a day, regardless of a server reset, but that is just speculation.

I use server downtime to get lunch. If there is no downtime I might starve.

Please remember, that there are players out there (e.g. the europeans), who have to endure the server downtime during her lunchbreak, so there is some hunting after reboot
