What happens to be one of the more frustrating hunts you have been on?
Just recently I have taken up the hobby of tracking GDK. The first night I went out was pretty aggravating. First thing I did was head out 500 m N of town. As soon as I hopped off my little scooter, I had 2 enraged kimos spawn right on top of me!!! I got on my bike.... but they did not like that too much. Knocked me off the bike and straight on to my back. Luckily my employer was able to pull em off, but not before my scooter was disabled. Of course I ran like the dickens! After I was done being chased, and fully healed, the hunt began again. For an hour I combed the dunes of Lok. Finally, i see a single red dot.... I have my GDK!! Cha-ching. Will I help you kill it? Of course! I will also take the 1 mill for the loot that the beast drops!!! we fight this thing for a while, I am diseased really bad, mind buffs drop..... I hang in there right to the end. I burst run with a prayer that I live. Suddenly the beast turns to flee! He is about to drop dead!! For some strange reason he goes swimming in the midst of combat. So we stop wailing on him and try to draw him back to land. Suddenly some one pulls the drain plug for the lake and sucks our GDK right down the drain not to be seen, killed, or looted!

Why didn't you taunt him?
Rescue might have worked too.

Tried to taunt em, but he stuck his tongue out at me and said "Nya Nya!!!". Then the big flush... lol.

I've had this happen with GDKs too - really frustrating, especially when it is only you and one other and it has taken forever to kill.

Sorry to hear that, but those rivers on Lok need to be drained or flushed anyway! 
Seems like the big ones always want to despawn on you, and always when have them down to 1/3 health or below. Pretty frustrating.

I've had this happen with the Peko Peko albatross before. 1 hit from a kill and, poof, it's gone. I thought I had killed it b/c I stopped fighting... then I realized it was just gone.
I love BGH but REALLY HATE the despawning... and I don't hate a lot of stuff... other then hawtpant
