Thread: What traps do YOU use?

I'm curious to know what traps everyone uses. Personally, I rarely stray from Glow-wire, but I sometimes go for the state effects (sonic pulse, flash bomb) when group hunting.
Anyway...
What traps do YOU use?

I don't use any at the moment. Only because I don't have the toolbar space, until I drop CH. When I do, I pretty much just use the glow-wire.

Pdarts. Insane to use anything else first. This gives you running room as Mr. Creature either stops or walks slowly. Would use adhesive, but at 2 per craft, a waste of resources.

Glowwire, just to drop any defenses.

Sharp bone spurs. If you can't see me, you can't hit me.

Note - the state effect of dizzy on Ldarts does not work.

Flash Bomb because blind is good.Sonic Pulse because stun is good. I know dizzy doesnt do anything but stun does. Both being area of effect is really nice.

And of course p-darts. Unbuffed you live and die by p-darts. Thats why my droid's loaded with them

I sometimes use this sequence which is great for trapping xp grinds:

pdart > stink bomb > ldart > noise maker > pdart > sharp bone spur > glow wire trap > glow juice trap / wire mesh trap

Totally immobilises the creature while you throw all of your traps, providing the pdarts work

pdarts for me. I used glow wires to level through the trapping tree in Ranger because you can throw one right after another; no waiting for states to wear off.

Actually, I don't even use the pdart too much. I rely on my trusty pistol to stop critters.

pdarts and flash bomb work really well. adhesive mesh when it works, immobilizes the critter for a while, but i find its a waste, you only get 2 per craft, and most of the time the critter keeps running towards you. Pdarts are much much better. now if we got a trap to knock down, that would be awesome.

P darts.. sometimes Flash Bombs.

Sonic pulse is my favorite visual/audio effect. But if I want to stun something, I use my rifle.

When solo hunting, like most others I use P-darts - my harvest droid can hold 23 of them. I rarely use any others, being a Master Rifleman too. I have much more success applying states (stun) with my rifle than my traps as my rifle also doessignificantly more damage. I really should work in flash bombs (blind) and maybe glow juice to my tactics, but to be honest its normally quicker and more successfull tofire off a couple more rifle specials instead.

When in a group I sometimes throw in a few other types of traps just for the hell of it, as I know the critters normally won't make a beeline for me.

I really wish the Devs would fix our dizzy traps. As it stands they are a complete waste of time. My preference would be to allow our traps to work on NPCs, butallowing creatures to be effected by dizzy would be a start, especially as we (well Scouts) have a trap that "...has the effect of making the target dizzy as well as causing a slight decrease in the target's mind and action pools. This weapon cannot kill and only works on animals."!!!
