I recently made Master Ranger, followed by Master Rifle. Enjoyed every minute of the journey (not grind)!
It seems I picked a great time to be a Ranger on Shadowfire. I have good Vegash, a 111 harvesting droid - only mistake /grin I made was not getting a race bonus for harvesting, instead picking the basic human.
Currently on our server:
Dath and Yavin Avian - 125cpu
Dath Insect - 40cpu
Yavin Wooly - 100cpu
Yavin Scaley - 20cpu
Endor Herbivore - 60cpu
I have been hunting these in rotation selling as much as I can carry, making about 10 million over the last 2 days.
Also, hooked up with somne great folks doing their Jedi grind. Found the Pekos in under 25 minutes - then took 2 days looking for Graul Marauder. As a bonus I went with them (3 jedis and a few docs) to kill the Novva on the Corvette 4 times.
Having a blast, harvesting - tracking for pay and acting as an early warning system for my Jedi padawan sponsers for the BH's in range of them
At least I'm Enjoying the Ride!

Made Master Smuggler on Wanderhome week 3 of the server's go-live - never dropped
Master Smuggler / TKM / Defense stacker
Maybe the oldest continuous Smuggler out there ?

I was a Ranger once.... now, you guys are draining my bank account, lol. (Look at the sig
) That Dathomir avian is amazing... it would be a lot more than 125cpu onmost servers (200+cpu).
Shadowfire has a GREAT Ranger community though -- by far the best from any server I've played on. /bmoc for you guys.

Collin, Shadowfire has a great Ranger community and our guild FTP is one of the reasons. FTP is one of the oldest continously active guilds on the server and Ranger Corp (the business end) is well known as a supplier of resources. We were originally founded as a Ranger guild but have since grown to include other professions but Ranger is still at our core. I invite you to visit our city, Antaria, on Talus to check us out.
I hope you like Master Ranger/Master Rifleman as much as I do. It is a great hunting setup especially with a harvest droid. The harvest and selling of resources is very lucrative.

I didnt know prices were that high. Are they set by the Rangers or is that what the Docs are offering to pay? Personally I don't think any resource is worth any more than 10cpu, but I try to be fair to myself and my customers. Time is time whether it's Kreetle meat or Woolamander meat. But heck, if they're paying it willingly, I might have to plan a trip to Yavin.

Prices are set by the buyer in my limited experience.
Check the trade forums and they are listed with wtb : current yavin wooly 60cpu or dath insect 60cpu.
The only problem i have run into is going on trade forum alone - I've hunted a few times for 2-3 hours only to find the person advertising say they now have enough - so check with the person advertising and arrange a contract for yourself - amount and price.
On Shadowfire, the doc buying the Yavin Avian now has over 800k units of this, paying 125cpu
So, I'm still collecting without a buyer (speculating for other buyers to come along while spawn is this good)
I've also seen bid wars on the trade forum - one buyer paying 60cpu, another starts a thread paying more, the 1st updates paying more, etc.
Hope this helps

Yea, I tend to gather before selling the popular stuff: wooly hides, avian and herb meat. Then I either trade or sell if I find a customer, or just help my guild. I don't usually advertise as I'm a Ranger to be a Ranger, not to make money, but what I have sold in the past has been pretty high. Especially now with buffs being commonplace, docs really have no choice. But thanks for the price info! Pretty interesting.

You boys are lucky.. Corbugtis is hurting on quality resources .. one shift of dath herb meat and a week long tat wooly hide shift was all we've had in weeks

i dont hunt and sell what i collect, i mostly solicite my tracking abilities to people who need me to find somthing, it doesnt provide the finacial stabability that i would like but walking around for an hour for 125k supports just long enough till the next client
