Thread: A new improved ranger

I have really come to beleive that there are two useful lines.


Wayfaring and Tracking.


Tracking should remain as is.


Wayfaring


-Camo kits should remove you from radar. Engaging in removes your camo


Frontiering


Novice Ranger Camp

- Battle fatigue is healable by entertainers

- it repels up to level 50 creatures from attacking its inhabitants


Field Base

- Repels up to lvl 150 creatures

- You can place an optional shield generator which must be destroyed before an enemy can harm those inside the camp

- You can place a factional turret which is manable


HighTech Field Base


-You can summon a recruiter with a fastional troop body guard

-Repels any aggro

-You can palce up to three turrets in it

-You can palce two shield generators


Trapping


Traps are soemtiems useful, but lets give trapping a whole new meaning


As you progress up the trapping line, you are able to recognize patterns of creature migrations and such. A new ability at novice ranger should be "study local migration path" and it will give you percentage of creatures who typiclly pass throguh the area. You also have a "locate path" command whuch you can select a creature on the list and it can eventualyl find a high area of them. The higher your skill, the quicker it is to find a good spot


This is all for the new creature harvester...aka traps.


Creature traps are craftable by rangers, the higher level ranger..the mroe effective traps you can make. when you find a good spot you can place a trap.


Traps will take 1 lot each and require maintnence and enrgy.


They also require bait. Whne out in the wild you can "examine the creature" and the higher knowledge you have in the creature...the mroe you know what they eat. At Novice..you fidn out what is "eadible" to the creature and as you progress up the hunting/tracking tree you learn more and mroe what the creature really realyl like. This can be simple wild what to crafted foods to foragable items.


The better bait you put in, the better chance the trap will catch the creature. The better trap, the less bait you will loose per catch. Therefor you put in the bait that is appropriate for the creature you want and then you tell the harvester what you want harvested from the creature. Once you have doen this and have money, energy and bait in the trap...it will begin automaticlyl luring, traping and harvesting the creature you want.

This sounds awsome but very very difficult to code at the same time.

Note to self -


When it becomes obvious that the poster hasn't read the stickies, punch out. That and the inability to spell check.


Nothing new here that hasn't been lauded or flamed, mostly the latter, already.
