hey is there a problem with rangers picking up loot off mob (rancors, woolmander harrowers, etc) i can't ever seems to loot anything from them just the regular harvesting. Is this a prof downer or do i just have really bad luck??? (I've killed over 8 woolmander harrows....nothing; 20+ ancient bull rancors....nothing; I did get scales off a kimogila b4 tho...) Any opinion will be welcome =) thanks in advance

Harvest macro
/lootall
/harvest (insert resource)
This is not a moron macro, it's a hot key macro. Instead of dicking with the radial, do the above and have it on your hotkeys. Harvesting takes no time. It ensures that if the critter drops loot, you get it, regardless of your knowledge that it drops or not.
DO NOT USE IT TO LOOT NPCS. It gacks up the macro and you can only loot, not harvest, until you reboot.
Voritor lizards, Sharnaff, Peko Albs, Rancors, all kinds of stuff drop loot, sometimes.

though most of the dropped loot is either (Creature Name) Scales or some other semi-generic armor implant.

0 for 8 on woolamanders isn't strange. Try hunting GDK scales... you could kill close to 100 and still have no luck. 0 on 20 for the Ancient Bull Rancors isn't crazy, but I would think you could expect to find something within that ratio, so bad luck there. If you go out specifically looking for creature loot you'll end up being disappointed. It's random and if you get your hopes up every time you start fighting the desired MOB it's only going to lead to disappointement.

Same topic - try finding a Black Sun Ace helmet. Talk about rare.
Check out the trade forums, 12 mil is not unheard of for one of these.

There is no skill involved in looting (I would argue that the FS Skill Luck doesn't give you any more loot). Some people just happen to be loot more than others, but not by and skill mod in the game (as a Master Ranger I had as much success at looting as I do with not Ranger in my template at all).
I have made probably 30 trips to the Woolamander temple in the last few months and looted the bone fragments only 4 times. 3 of those were on consecutive trips. Basically, Loot Happens.

I use the same macro whenever I loot or harvest regardless of NPC or Animal..I have never had a problem with it screwing up my toon
although now that I think of it I use /loot not /lootall

a good friend who's a master armorsmith told me once, that any looted creature part is better than no parts when making armor. like base krayt scales are better than nothing, so if you search around, you can typically find someone who'll take all of that loot.

I'd feel lucky if I got one out of every eight harrowers to drop. I've killed maybe 20-30 and had only one drop loot. With the exception of Black Sun NPCs, I haven't noticed any problems in the loot drop rate. Albatrosses (80-90% drop rate) and Brackesets (10%? drop rate) would be one good way to test if something is broken or has changed.

cool thanks for the info, the reason i was asking is because the issue came up in the trade forums about the woolander harrower, some was saying they never killed one without lootin the bones. I just took over my lil bro's account (he went to WoW) he's a FS master armorsmith. I was tryin to finish the RIS quest for him but no luck on the harrower bones. And after hearing people go there and almost always get bone I thought I'd pop the question here. Thanks for all the input people. My mind is more at ease about it, kinda like it was when I first went after the woolander palace, I know loot is very random and used not ever worry about but geez when ur looking for something u almost never find it hehe. I can rest better now that I know other people have about the same luck I do, was starting to think i was cursed or something. =) Thanks agian for the input my fellow rangers!
