Ok, I'm a Master Ranger, almost Master Rifleman.... with a smattering of Medic.
Here's my question,
If I drop to Ranger 0/0/4/0 and pick up Pikeman 0/0/2/0 in addition to Master Rifleman that would give me +125 Block and Melee Mitigation 1...
Is the capping of block worth it to drop all those Ranger skills?
I don't really use camps anymore, and hardly ever throw a trap now a days, but I think I'll miss the Wayfaring line the most out of the three... opinions?

What are you looking to kill that you need the Block and Melee Mitigation? As a Master Rifleman there was nothing that I huntes regularly (and almost nothing in the game) that I couldn't drop extremely quickly. I am not condoning keeping or dropping Ranger skills, just trying to make you think ifyou really need all the Block and Melee Mit. or not.

Seeing as I haven't becoma an all powerfull god yet (hope to master rifleman in a day or 2!) I haven't yet realized my potential...
I was just playing with numbers on a Character Builder and was trying to make a Ranger/Rifleman template and I figured if Block was a rifleman's "defense", why not cap it and see what happens?
It seems that every time I think about messing with my character's build, I can't seem to bring myself to drop Master Ranger anyway!

Hi WeiQuin, it's Zeddrick. I believe I trained you in Concealment II last night.
I was in the same boat a while ago thinking of a template for Ranger. I was thinking of some of Rifleman and some of TKM and this and that for extra defenses and what not, but then I realized that once I get Master Ranger I don't really want to give it up. I was very appreciative of your Master Ranger tag when I saw you last night, and when I said, "Sure, where would you like to meet," and you stated, "I'll come to you." I immediately thought that you at least had 0040 in Ranger and said, "He's probably tracking me ... cool (:."
I just recently mastered the Rifleman profession and I did notice that our defenses are quite low. Real low compared to other professions but then I went out hunting and noticed something; the block modifications and defenses given seem to do quite well (I'm sure there can be improvements as with everything), but the speed and damage output I was doing was incredible that nothing ever got close. Coupled with camo and nothing should EVER get close unless it's a 34K HAM NPC or something that will eventually detect you. Keep in mind that I did just get Master Rifleman, but so far, I think it's working very well and my advice is to at least stick with it and master the profession before seeing if you really need to drop some Ranger skills for other defenses in other professions. The stories are true and that last Master box makes a huge difference, it's not even funny.

You have block, the creature spits at you (that is a ranged attack btw) and you drop dead of instant stupification. What did you block?
Stay ranged, you can hide easier. Use traps more too.

During my last months as ranger I was Master Marksman/Master Rifleman/Ranger 0040. The +5 Rifle Speed capped me on all my rifles since I didn't buy the cheapand slow T21's but the more expensive fast ones. Doing Master Marksman saved me millions in speedtapes. When you start firing rifles with 400 to 500 max dmg every second, you no longer have any need for defenses, half the time I was even able to do without armor.

Hi Zeddrick!! A hearty thank you for the training! I was glad to see another Ranger/Rifleman. It seems that the two professions were made for one another! If you ever need any Ranger training, look me up.
