Is there any interest in setting up Ranger specific vendors ? I have only seen one on Chimaera and was wondering if it was worth setting one up....

I don't think I have ever seen one on Tempest. We should have some way of selling our stuff that way we are not getting ripped off.

If you mean selling the stuff we can craft, the glow-wire, glow juice and wire mesh traps are wanted for grinding, the camo kits that look like 6-packs can be sold for a nice price if you label them as beer during crafting. Some actual rangers might be interested in buying Phecnacine Darts, Adhesive mesh and Glow-wire traps.

I'm still gathering hide, meat and bone to set up a Ranger Resource's vendor. I have no clue if it will go over. The hardest part is pricing the resources. Chefs want this, Armorsmiths that, Docs....Hoping to figure out a way to catagorize the wares into Grind, Good, Better, Best.
Helps that I have an alt. My Ranger has no artisan for a vendor.

Im considering buying a second account, just so I can realise my dream of a "hunting supplies" shop
The alt will go Master Artisan, Master Merchant and Master Tailor, perhaps will a little Medic to craft stims. That way I can supply Creature Resources, Traps, Camps, Fishing Poles, Bio-bonus Clothing and Stims all in one place. My problem is I cant decide whether or not the additional income ingame will be worth the extra monthly fee.....

Some people do a whole lot better with a second account than I do. I am a terrible crafter. I confuse myself and have a hard time staying on task. A good reason why Ranger suits me. Go to Yavin for meat, see an interesting flower, stop to smell and take a few screenies, ohh...what's that? Runs over to find out. Who wudda' thunk THAT would bite me so hard. Set a camp, heal, chat, forage, re-name pets. Umm....why did I come here?
If you are good at multi-tasking, go for it. Expect to blitz through amazing quanitites of resources. It cost me 1 mil to skill my Master Tailor, Master Artisan and current passtime BE. I did make the credits back but it took awhile. Crafting makes me sleepy.

Was it mine you saw? ( Blue Dog Mini Mall). It does fairly well, but I sell far more meat off it than traps or camps. However, the traps and ( advanced) camps do steady business. Basic camps don't seem to sell very much at all.

I was thinking of haveing my alt make a ranger vendor to selll camo kits and trap and camps. I would do this with factory runs. I have found that when i was grinding camping and trapping that the factory runs help alot! So what i need for you all is if you would buy stuff from me and how much are you willing to pay for it all?

I'm keen on your topic here, but I'm not going to take the time to write much out for you here.
The reason, this has been discussed a ton in other threads (including some of my own!). Do a search through the ranger forum and you will find some thread with very helpful information and some good tips too.
I say go for it. I'm making one on Naritus... it's just taking me some time to get all the camo kit components together.

This is the most recent thread about ranger vendors which I instigated although if you do a search (as I have now done), there are a couple of others in the not-so-distant past. I am in the process of creating a few new characters on different servers to see what is going on in different galaxies and you may like to do the same for a bit of background research. If I do get a shop going, I'll post to the Ranger forum to let people know.

If you really want to grind survival or trapping XP, using factory crates actually hurt you. Those are traps or camps that you could've crafted manually while gaining survival XP. (slightly more in practice mode). It costs the same amount of resources to craft/practice them as it takes to do a factory run -- the only difference being factory runs don't give XP.
It may seem quicker to do the trapping line with crates, but with 3 crafting tools, you can sit in camp and manually make them much faster than waiting for a factory run. Plus, you'll get survival XP much faster by doing that while camping.
So, in that respect, it might be hard to sell ranger/scout equipment for grinding.
I have a ranger vendor that is basically just in my shop for the heck of it, and because it's next to our ranger PA hall. It's also just something to make my shop look more populated and fit in with the Ranger themed BE clothing vendor, and the creature resources vendor. The only thing that sells on the ranger equipment vendor is my 50cpu .99 quality fishing poles (on tatooine, no less). The problem with ranger vendors is that we're selling to a market of people who can already make these items and gather the required resources. Not to mention the small population of ranger customers.
Still, I have my vendor stocked with Pdarts, Adhesive mesh and camo kits. I only really focus on those because they're the things I like to have in crates for myself (takes up less pack space). I take some, pass out some to guild members, and then put the rest on my vendor's stockroom. Honestly, it's a pain having my alt's mailbox flooded every 30 days with "auction unsuccessful" and then having to restock a page full of stuff I know will never sell.

I'm wondering however, why don't we set up our vendors as butchers? Simply sell our resources through them instead of the open bazaar? If Rangers and scouts pooled our resources and kept quality meat off the open bazaar and kept them in venodrs like most tailors and artisans keep their high end stuff, you'd force people through those vendors.
We could sell milk meats, and any looted items as well. We get most of the rarest animal drops, the best meats and seem to be the only ones who have the patience and the wrists to get 6k stacks of milk.
On each servers' RIN we could announce good meat spawns and Rangers and scouts can gather together and harvest those good resources and demand our own prices instead of getting solicited by chefs and BEs. Or set up an ingame mailing list and do it that way.
There you go, scout/Ranger only hunting and fishing trips where each individual can take turns dropping camps where we'd all get trap and camo making xp and enjoy each other's company. Good way to share resources for making camo as well. I know I still have a hard time finding Corellian bristly hide. What animal has that anyways? Hehehe.
Just a thought, but I think Staplesman88/Ryrkerai has some good ideas.
