Why do you want to give up Pikes?
If you're tired of the profession and want to try something else out, go for rifles (or Pistols or Carbs, etc.). If it's because you're under the impression that Rifles are the best profession for Ranger... I wouldn't do it.
Do what is fun. Ranger is structuredsuch that any combat profession works. This is why Ranger is awesome.

I was a pike/ ranger and i thought it was a lot of fun.
being able to tank, and lay down states and debuffs was amazing. However, be prepared if you go to rifleman to lose your defenses.
Rifles is a natural match for ranger, however, its all about how you play the game. I am a MBH/ MRanger/ SL 0300 and i do very very well, solo and in groups.
I prefer BH for the variety of weapons, specials, and tactics available to me.
again, it boils down to how you have fun, and doing exactly that.
