Thread: Stupid question about crates of camps, traps, etc

Hey guys,
I was gone for a long while, and this part seems to have slipped
my mind. Can I make crates of my Ranger specific equipment? I have
a crafting bot with the stations, and I have tried different stations
around but I can't seem to be able to make a schematic. Do I need artisan
skills to make a schematic? For some reason I seem to remember making
my own crates of camps and stuff back in the day, but I had 3 accounts
so who knows how I accomplished it.. lol

Are you using a generic crafting tool or a weapon, droid and general item crafting tool? The generic crafting tool does not give you an option to create a schematic.

I got myself an equipment factory and a wind generator and started making crates for myself. I thought I might sell camo kts to the masses, but we see how that has turned out. But I did make crates of traps and HTFBs, which has freed up space in my inventory.
You need to get near a public crafting station or one you have the ability to use. I use the one in my guild hall. Stand near it and start crafting with the crafting tool in your inventory. 4 or 5 steps in it will give you the option of creating a schematic. If you choose that option, a schematic will be added to your datapad and you can plug that into your station.
Remember that you need to use the exact same resources to make the schematic as you will use to craft your crates. So to make a five crate run of 25 items per crate, I would hunt up enough resources to make 126 items and use one set for my schematic, since you need to actually use one set to make your schematic. So you will need the same "Funnyname Tatooinian Hide/Bone/Meat" for your schematic and your factory run.

There's pretty good information here. For more details though, I would suggest heading over to the artisan forums, there's some great info on the specifics of using factories. What the artisan forums won't tell is that to make Ranger goods, you need:
1) A "Weapon, Droid, and General Crafting" tool
2) a "Weapon, Droid, and General Crafting" Station (there's one just outside the SP in Coronet next to the artisan trainer)
3) An Equipment Factory
Once you've got these three items, the rest is just general factory crafting info.

It's an amazing time saver though - I used it all the way up. Its easy to collect a few thousand matching hides/bone and make crate upon crate of traps and camps.
