I am thinking of picking up the tracking portion of Ranger so i could track Krayts and nightsisters easier. Is this something that is even possible?

Sure. I do it all the time. In fact, the two things you've mentioned are probably my largest Ranger contribution to the good of my guild, other than HTFBs.

The only problem with tracking as it now stands (and apparently will remain standing for quite a while) is that you cannot specify the creature you want to track. The ability that Rangers currently have is to basically see what's in the area, so if there are krayts or nightsisters within 500m or so (with Tracking IV), you will know which direction they are and how far away.

While we're on the topic, is it possible to track the Giant Peko Peko Albatross or the Gorax? I've gone hunting for both with friends and groups, being the designated Tracker here, never seen anything, but also not sure if it even would show up.

Every creature, human, or NPC shows up on tracking, nothing is immune. If you're able to track the shuttle sitting at the shuttleport from 500 meters away then you can track a Gorax and Albatross in the wild.

Good. Just wanted to make sure they hadn't somehow bugged that and I was searching in vain.

The removal of CH and the NGE in general is the dumbest thing a company has ever done. period.

Yes, and you can even track the Lorax, although he only shows up when someone chops down all the trees.
