Well here is my idea, you tell/flame me if its been said or sounds stupid. Being a ranger I can disable mine fields, and love doing it when I find the ransom Imp mine field. I was assisting in a base raid the other day, while covert. My attempt was to run up ahead of the forces and disable the mine fields. There was right at the entrance, and another on the back side.

But of course the base had a Covert detector up and I got nailed with a TEF and became yet another target for the turrets. My idea is this. What if a certain profession had the ability to disable the covert detector for a certain time period? Like maybe 5 or 10 minutes. I would say that is would make sence if it was the smuggler, going in there and slicing it, but just to give us rangers something for the GCW, how about us?

Now before you say, "no way those things rock and help protect a base from you covert loosers." Getting close to one of those means you get a TEF and thus a target to any base defences. And stopping at it, and choosing disable from menu? Thats about 2-3 seconds of which you could die a terrilbe death. So, basically, yes, it would be powerful to add this ability, but at the same time, extremely difficult to ever actuall accomplish it. You would need many forces out to give many targets for the turrets.

So what do you think? Lame, cool, maybe?

Cool idea, though you should probably bring it up with JEST3R rather than myself...

  • I am sure he will be able to find the flaws in the idea (if there are any)far faster than I could.
