Thread: Using conceal to apply camoflauge kits how long does it last
How long does a player maintain a camoflauged status when a ranger applys a camo kit on him? and how effective is it? thanks
"How long does a player maintain a camoflauged status when a ranger applys a camo kit on him?"
About 20 minutes I believe, if it is not broken by an opponent. ![]()
"and how effective is it?"
/maskscent is a maximum of 95% effective, while /conceal is a maximum of 98% effective.
Conceal will lastuntil you are detected by a Kreetle or a Flit from 100 miles away.
"Do we know for a fact that the skill mods correspond directly to the percentage of effectiveness?"
Check out this post and see if it answers your question:
Re: Bio Enhanced Clothing and Ranger...
Wow NRaas, first I heard about those effectivness numbers. Is that from Greenmarine? If those are the numbers, it seems like conceal is really low comparativly. I realize that making mask scent cap out at 95% doesn't leave much room to improve, but only 3% difference from starting profession to an elite one?
To answer the original post, I would say the average is 20min. I can say I have had one last longer on me, that I applied to myself. I don't think I have had another persons not get their broken long enough to see how long it lasts. But I would say camo is very effective, now. For me it works a little better then /mask scent against animals, and it works great against NPC's. It helps keep the non scout medics in my party safe.
NRaas, another question here. Do we know yet if the Bothan bonuses and BE clothing bonuses really add much to camo or mask scent? I"m master ranger Botha, with 2 peaces of clothing that both add +14 to camo and mask scent. When I was at 4.3.4.4 my mask scent was +123 and my camo was +128. If +100 is considered the 95% and 98% effective, then how much would extra skill mods help that? Would my +128 camo give me 99 or 99.9% effectivness?
"Is that from Greenmarine?"
The numbers 95% and 98% are from the developers fingers, yes.

You should to read my reply in the thread I quoted in the post just above your own...
- It should explain howthe modifiers affect effectiveness.
