Thread: Simple solution to fix tracking
Bane -
I have seen more than one person shot off his speeder and incapped. It's not real common, but has happened. Player was already low on one of the HAM bars and drove through an NPC aggro mob, which nailed him and dropped him. They also usually disable the bike too, insult to injury. Then they DB if the player is still down.
Luckily I wandered in to stop the DB, but the bike was wrecked. I stayedlong enough to drop the mob (stupid Aqualish anyhow), pop a camp, heal, and let my buddy deploy his creature mount.
Personally I thought it was pretty funny.
Oh, and some of the faster avians can catch land speeders.

hunting on dath, a reptilian flier broke my camo. I never saw the creature when it broke my camo cause of graphics lag, but when i did see it, i was incapped. What had happened was the flier had knocked my down, hit me, and incapped me. I was 1km away from my wp...and i had to wait for the incap timer.
So, yes, the player on a swoop is not invincible.
It's a nice idea, but it's also an answer to a more basic game problem: that being when things spawn. The timer for spawning things should be made faster.
You can get knocked off of a vehicle. It's happened to me twice already, but only in PvP. Basically, someone one-shots the speeder, destroying it. You've gotta be fast though.
Right now we are otherwise invulnerable against mobs. There may be a few occasions where something gets lucky I suppose, but kid, I've travelled from one end of this galaxy to the other and I have never seen any... oh wait... I've never been hit more than once by a mob long since left in my wake.
Personally, I think the vehicles need impact damage to bring them a bit more into balance. This would make driving a skill. Which would be good. I know some folks prefer pure accounting games for their roleplaying experience, but I'm not one of them
To prevent griefing, don't have impact damage from mobs, NPCs, players nor player pets. Only static world objects like trees and buildings.
sometimes thats just more effective
