Hello all. I am a Master Armorsmith/Artisan/Merchant, who is keeping Master Armorsmith and picking up some scout/combat to be able to harvest my own hides and do all of the combat stuff this game has. I am curious what would be the best way to do this however.
I would prefer to spend my extra pointson combat, and was curious as to which path would net me more hides. IYO, Will I harvest more hides/hour by going all the way up to elite-combat, and a minimum of Scout skills, or by going only up to like novice-combat, and all the way up the ranger harvest line? Thanks for your advice.

IMHO, I would go Master Scout, then as high as you can in a combat line. The harvests don't get much better with ranger. At least not right now.

If you keep Master Armorsmith, it would be useless to go ranger, as you would require some sort of combat skills but not have the SP. Master Scout, or just take hunting IV, and then fill up on combat skills.

Go 2040 on Scout and put the rest into some kind of combat class.
That will give you reasonable harvesting, basic camps, some terrain navigation bonuses and Mask scent.
Hunt with groups of others on some of the heavier planets and youll harvest a lot of hide in a very short time with that much scout.
Go solo and youll be all day to make a small profit lol.
Besides group hunts tend to be a lot of fun.
