Now Master Ranger on Shadowfire! I love the thought of being a ranger. What group venturing out into the wildes of Endor, Yavin, Dantooine, Darth wouldnt want the Master of the Outdoors with them? However, seeing as how every other profession seems to had and advantage over us in PvE whats the point? A smuggler can feign death a creature but we can't? I mean really, who would be more skilled at playing dead to avoid a deathblow, a spice smuggler or a Master Ranger trained in creature knowledge, concealment, and mask scent?

I love throwing down a High Tech Base camp, but lets face it, with droid crafting stations, the inability to heal BF sitting in a camp without an entertainerpresentwhat real benefit outside of cool factor is there?

Terrain Negotiation and Burst Run Efficiency? I can't tell a heck of a lot of difference since Master Scout. I still cant Burst run for 1000m, and heck, with vehicles whats the point?

Trapping? Can anyone tell me what the sonic pulse and flash do? Outside of the restraining traps, what do I really acheive wasting a combat move throwing one of these?

And finally harvesting. Nice to get an extra 20-30 hides off a good kill. Tracking is nice when your trying to find a particular creature. Perhaps 1 out of 4 trees is worth keeping. Course I could probably kill 20-30% more creatures in the same amount of time devoting these points to combat skills, and get higher level missions offered to me. So its a toss up.

I hate that the profession I love the most leaves so much to be desired.

Well, I'm sorry you're feeling so disillusioned about the profession, but hearty congrats on making it to Master. I'm 4-2-4-4 and should make it to Master this weekend, and let me tell you--I'm definitely looking forward to popping up my first HTFB, if only to get a rise out of my friends in addition to the odd "D00d, 1337 c4mp! Better than my house, LOL!" from a passerby.

Again, way to go. Hope to join you in the ranks soon.

Ranger is not a profession. It's a lifestyle.
