Well, finally mastered Ranger last week. It was a fun journey, and I actually enjoyed some of the skills I obtained while I had them. Unfortunately, I'm in the process of trying to knock out a few holo's before they change the system, so I've already had to drop Ranger from my profession list (blah, Master Dancer is next, someone shoot me!).
However, one thing I wanted to say was that I honestly hope that this profession gets a good revamp. I think everyone has a lot of terrific ideas as to what a Ranger should be. The Outdoorsman model that NRaas put together was down right amazing and I think the Devs should put a lot of thought into that. Will I return to Ranger after I finish the holos? I don't know. A good revamp would sure be good incintive. So maybe someday I will once again don the Hunt Master title.
Until then, good luck to you all and your profession. There is a lot of potential that should be explored with the Ranger, and if the Devs don't see that, maybe we're paying them a little too much money every month!

hmm, whatever you say.
I am the only Ranger in my guild and I and loving it as we are now. I harvest more than anyone else, my camps own, I just learnt to erect field base kits. I can track animals, npc's and other players. Finding babies (I am a ch) is sooo much easier. I make camo kits and use them on the members of the group I am hunting with whichreally helps with reducing the incidence of bad pulls.
If we do get improved then all well and good, but I think we are greatnow.

You must be kidding me. Ranger is great now?...
Camps are aesthetic only.
Trapping is next to useless.
Camo breaks as much as basic Scent Mask.
The harvesting bonus is inconsistent at best.
Nraas has indeed put together great feedback and suggestions from the community. But the chance that anything is getting improved in the near future seems slim enough to me I dropped everything but the tracking line last week. I'm surprised I waited that long.
