As of today, I surrender the frontiering line I luvved so much... after obtaining master ranger, and almost immediately surrendering the nigh-worthless trapping line, then the camo kits (Who needs camo when you have speeders?), then the tracking (Same reason...).

Then I started wanting to fight more... I wanted commando at first, but picked BH ultimately 'cuz then I could keep Ranger. I started levelling up BH, and had a blast...

But I kept the frontiering line. I loved my campsites Ever since before the game, I saw the scout skilltree and thought, "Man, campsites, that'd be cool...". I joined as a scout, worked up as a scout, all 'cuz the camps sounded so awesome

I still have fun, sometimes, making a HTFB out in front of Coronet just to 'wow' the newbies

But now... I'm looking at my skill points, and realising that as cool and fun as the campsites are... they really just don't help me anymore. I can pull my speeder out from a basic camp as easily as the HTFB. I have a surgical droid that helps me heal up fast irregardless of the campsite. The camp doesn't repel creatures, and I quite simply have found no reason to keep it...

So, sadly, today I surrender the last of my ranger skills, my beloved Frontiering line, in order to get CH and get a meat shield to help me fight my bounties. It is with great reluctance that I do this, but sadly, the ranger line just isn't helpful or useful for me anymore...

I started working towards master ranger, then picked up CH so I always hada hunting partner. First to go in the ranger tree was trapping. I'm going to be able to keep 4/4/4/0 though. After the next publish camps won't be needed to call pets or vehicles, so their only usefullness will be for healing in the field.

I think SOE needs to give us 50 more skill point, maybe even just 25 more. It would allow players to be a little more rounded in some areas I think.

No more skill points. The one think working as intended is the skill point system. What needs to be done, and what appears to be in the works, is a revamp of the Ranger profession.

With current points, you can master 3 professions and dabble in a fourth. Any more than that will unbalance play. If you can't "well-round" a character with 3.5 professions, you are trying to do too much. Remember that interdependancy was the catch-phrase all through Beta3 when these things were being tweaked...

Needs to be done, perhaps. Appears to be in the works, hell no.

Indeed. I don't know where these rumors come from...Unless someone has got more of an inside scoop than myself.

I don't want anyoneoverstating the suggestion of camps being improved in the publish. That is all it is... A look into improving camps, not a revamp of the profession.
