Let me ask all of you an opinion question. I don't know any of you from in game because I'm not very social, I'm only in cities when I need to heal BF or use a starport. Number of Jedi not being an issue do you think most jedi would leave "normal" players alone if they only got the xp for FRS from killing jedi of opposite faction? Do you think that would be enough or should the change go one step farther, making it so that jedi and non jedi would have to accept a duel to fight whether the non jedi is overt or TEF'd or not?
Do jedi need to kill players for all their xp or is that only at the highest lvl when you get into force ranking system? Once it's quest based the only way I'd be jedi is if I can use a lightsaber and still be neutral, hang out in the wilds, and never pvp.

I don't talk to a lot of people in game and I'm curious what you all think of this as a possible solution to the problem. I think GCW and Jedi Light vs. Dark should be seperate activities. I also think jedi should be too powerful for 1 or 2 normal types to take on. We've all seen the movies and read the books. We knew when we got into this that jedi are suposed to be way powerful. This would be fine if people aren't forced into pvp with them. Another problem is that we have light jedi that behave like dark jedi in game. griefing is evil. There's no way to keep in game power from those who abuse it unfortunately. Any ideas to change or add to this?

- Why is this in the ranger forum? Run in with a flame shield, post it in the Jedi forum, run back out.

- Number of Jedi is a issue. They will not leave other players alone - because they want to be Ub3R L337 5UP4 1NV1NCI8L3. They'll

PvP at any chance they can. This does not apply only to Jedi. FoTM Stackers and Dabblers will take this chance to

- I don't think the duel acceptance thing will work. The point of the Jedi is to have power, at the cost of being hunted (even though most MBHs unfortunately don't stand a chance). What next? Remove MBHs? After this, what's the trade off for power? Not to also mention it will take even more time for Dark Jedi to ascend in the FRS trying to find someone who will accept. This is like saying "Overt's should have to agree on a duel to fight each other".

- Dark Jedi have to kill players to ascend in the FRS. The Light Jedi currently runs on a "voting" system. Problem is the killing is on a rather large scale - so they have to take every chance they can.

- Never PvP? So you want to rule all PvE, and have no tradeoff? Bit unfair don't you think?

- Jedi are too tough for 1 or 2 people to take on. Unless you're talking about Padawans. Higher level Knights/FRS Jedi's hard to take down. They take more than 2 seriously.

- This is not the movies. This is not the books. If we go by the SWG immersion rule - Imperials should outnumber Rebels by miles, all wear ST armour and have Carbines, all Rebels will carry Pistols, all neutrals be Hutts, Smugglers, or Traders, and the Imperial's should have AT ATs, be about 10 TKA or less in the whole galaxy, and not have Doctors having queues in front of the Coronet Starport giving out "buffs". Ever seen that in the movies or books?

- I agree Light and Dark Jedi are too similar, but that achieves balance. It would be quite hard to balance this kind of thing out, especially since Jedi is so PvP based, that a mess - up will end up with the Jedi population going berserk.

- Well controlling the careless and abusive Jedi should be the MBHs job. Pity they're at a huge disadvantage though. We buff the MBH's so they can do their job and it should put some Jedi in line.

-Yes, I knoiw it's off topic but nobody would give me any response and I knew I could count on rangers to give me an honest and cronstuctive opinion without any flames. I keep hearing about the jedi problem but then when I'm trying to think of a resolution nobody that was arguing about it would give any opinion on this idea.

-I hadn't thought of it that way. point conceded.

- Dark Jedi have to kill players to ascend in the FRS. The Light Jedi currently runs on a "voting" system. Problem is the killing is on a rather large scale - so they have to take every chance they can.

-I was thinking that the mass murdering might slack off a lot if jedi only got xp from killing opposite aligned jedi.

- Never PvP? So you want to rule all PvE, and have no tradeoff? Bit unfair don't you think?

-Honestly, I don't want to rule at pvp or pve. Ruling with no challenge to me is no fun. I just have no interest in pvp.

- Jedi are too tough for 1 or 2 people to take on. Unless you're talking about Padawans. Higher level Knights/FRS Jedi's hard to take down. They take more than 2 seriously.

-agreed

-that makes sense too.

I did post in Jedi forum too, but I knew here I would get an intelligent and objective response. I needed a sounding board. Thanks

I think your tactics of spending time in the wilderness is what keeps you sane.... I am seldomly in the cities myself. Visiting Coronet or Theed makes by blood boil as people behave with upmost dishonor... This also includes jedi's.

Sadly, there is no code of conduct for Jedi's and that makes them all Dark in nature.

Needless to say, I am probably the most elusive player in Tempest, it's not that I am antisocial... I am simply very shy.I think my elusivness keeps me playing, as I don't expose myself a lot to griefers. Griefers hang out where they can get the most attention, and those are the places I avoid to the best of my abilities.

Well, it should also be Vader's job, hehe. How about Vader going randomly on jedi hunt? He would not care about dark or light. No jedi can kill Vader, so the only option will be run and hide. That's where Antarian Rangers will help light jedi (dark jedi may get help from other informal organizations that sided with them). Of course, it's a whole new mechanics and it's unlikely to be implemented.

Personally Iwouldn't care if all the Jediwere allowed only to kill gnorts for xp on opposite Tuesdays.

Who cares?

Begone with this drivel.

Besides, Master Rangers are more rare than Jedi. Hell, Rangers are more rare than Jedi.
